No one forced CCP to make an FPS. They could have hired any of those studios to produce the IP instead they created a new studio with sophomoric Chinese developers. Some accountability is necessary here.

I guess my point is that I in general I don't let little things bother me - and a video game is awfully small overall when compared with other things that matter more.
Like bacon.
EDIT: Also, CCP always said this would be a long development path, just like Eve has been. If you expect something more quickly, then play a game deveoped by a company that has a track record for putting things out more quickly. 1. At this point telling anybody to leave the game is foolish... oh you're trying to be cool 2. CCP says a lot of things
Baron of General Discussion Winner of Closed Beta Tester TournamentWinner of Eve/Dust 514 PvP Fanfest Tournament KDR > EVERYTHING
Well you aren't trying to be cool that is pretty obvious, Mr. Baron of GD and Winner of This & That and all things awesome! |

Or talk about it on the forums? And we should only expect dust to be as good as battlefield 1942, a game released in 2002? Should CCP even patch it at all since its perfect?
What is your point? Besides complaining about the same stuff over and over and over, just because you guys use more words your opinions aren't anymore valid than mine. |

You posted in this thread 4 times before the post I quoted. 1) hey guys lets only compare dust to 11 year old games and not 2013 releases because CCP is new at this 2) don't play dust 3) lol I'm not listening to you 4) aren't you cool, mr obvious 5) (this one) my opinions are VALID grrrrrrrrrrrrrr Post an actual opinion, otherwise I just assume you either are a troll, or such a fanboy that you honestly believe dust is perfect.
Perfect? By no means. Fun? Yup. All that matters to me. Am I a fanboy? Nope.
Am I a whiny closed beta elitist prick? Nope, just started playing.
Did I start playing because I saw some epic trailer or review? Nope, just saw free and downloaded.
Do I play BF3, CoD, Halo, Socom, etc.? Yup, played em all and excelled at each never bothering to compare them to one another.
Does Dust get stale without all the promised content? Yep, but if I can still enjoy the game even without everything in it yet, I can only imagine how much fun I will have when it arrives.
Do I go on the boards and demand more content and better game right this instant? Nope, I power up my NES or SNES and play the games I still enjoy 20 years later.
Am I a troll? Nope, your mother is. |

Fair enough. DUST for me is an ever evolving experience that fulfills cravings left over from the 100 other FPS games I have played. I don't have to keep up with the Clones's (see what I did there lol) to be competitive and yet if I want to pull all nighters I don't have to worry about reaching Max Prestige and having nothing else to play for. Even without ALL the content there is a ton of stuff to keep the fun factor at high levels.
Maybe I enjoy it more for what it isn't (CoD for example) than what it actually is but to me it's a breath of fresh air and truly does have potential to be something unique not just a rehashed blend of everything I have already played. Maybe I am a hardcore gamer trapped inside a casual gamers body. Sure I like to win and be competitive but most of all I play for fun and when this stops being fun for me, that's it, no tearful goodbyes, no rants, no threats to CCP, I'll just move on til something else sparks that fire again. |

Basically DUST is that real fugly dorky chick in high school that for some reason I was really into but due to my popularity and social status couldn't risk trying. Of course 10 years later she is a successful bikini model. Do I really wanna miss out again? Nope. So I am banging DUST hard right now waiting for that ugly duckling to turn into a magnificent swan;D |

If you have a PC with the chops, I recommend trying DUST and PS2 side-by-side. I feel DUST actually has too little content under too many restrictions to be compelling for long play sessions. I play on TR Connery as, surprise, NocTempre.
I have checked out the trailers, forums, etc. and PS2 does look tempting (kinda reminds me of Tribes I dunno) but my current PC is trash (tried to run EVE to no avail) Simply don't have time to dump into it right now. I will stick to this for the next two weeks (plan on trying FF beta as well) then I am off for a two month vacation, will see when I get back how much has changed and if it's still fun for me. If not maybe I will upgrade my PC and try out PS2 or just devote my time to games like BF4, GTA5 and eventually Titanfall. |

I would give up everything for a Socom 2 HD remake. |

Hey look! You were capable of thoughtfulness after all. Sort of. At least you ultimately admitted dust needs work in between bitching about whiney elitists and my mother.
Of course I know it needs work but just because I gotta gym membership doesn't mean I am going to beef up overnight and look like Arnold without putting in some effort in first. I'm sure your mother is a saint but there aren't enough your mother references in these forums. |

I bet you just sit there and stuff your fat face like everyone else. Pulling the fast food card to relate to an entertainment device shows your utter ignorance. The Last Airbender was made by M. Night Shamaylan..... It was a seemingly promising movie adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender, which is one of my favorite "Cartoons" (Canadian "Anime"). Had I paid to watch it fail I would have sat through it to get what I paid for, and then regret it as per buyer's remorse. I chose to avoid it b/c of Shamwowlon's fail track record, thankfully so. Dragonball Evolution was a flipside to this scenario. I saw a terrible presentation & avoided it like the plague it is. I would compare DUST 514 to Street Fighter: The Movie..... SF is a great fighter, trailer displayed a degree of awesomeness, disappointment ensued..... CCP has a good track record with EVE, DUST 514 showed promising value, disappointment ensues.... Investments were made & buyer's remorse has set in. I will occasionally log in just to cap b/c I paid for it, and I will regret devaluing my investment should I quit.....but I will regret playing a shattered promise/broken dream (Catch 22). And as a consumer & founding supporter I have every right to voice my opinions (Mostly FACT) of the failure to deliver even a taste of the promised product. TL:DR: You are IRRELEVANT
STREET FIGHTER WAS A GREAT MOVIE <3 JVD and RIP RAUL JULIA:D I might be a little irrelevant but you are sooooooo irrelevant I need a bigger word it's IRRELEPHANT! |

THEY WILL NOT BE THE SAME GAME. Well of course not, they will be ps4 games. and dust will be... oh right.
10 year plans kinda make little sense when a console has stopped being produced. ps3 being produced after 10 years?
right so another 5 years to move it to pc.
*but people still play the ps one!*
To those people hi, YOU ARE THE ONE PERCENT.
Nothing beats the classics. We still boot up the N64 here and there for some good ole Mario Kart or the chipped Saturn to play the jap version of X-Men vs Street Fighter and of course the NES for Super Tecmo Bowl tourneys which are still very popular. I recently beat Indigo Prophecy for the ps2 (same company that made Heavy Rain) It's not all about graphics and online multiplayer for every gamer in this Call of Booty era. Socom 5 for ps4? Yes please:D |
