I found that the design fraud too ... but is not how the PC suppose to work. I rather have the PC working as its intended, than getting few easy kills doing something that the PC is not design to do by definition.
I hope you don't mean to think of it as an AV weapon. That'd be silly for a weapon designed for confined space combat. It's working as intended when used as a close range weapon. |

Panther Alpha wrote:So what the Plasma Cannon is the design for ? A one-shot-kill close range weapon ? I thought we have the shotgun for that...
Comrade, in the words of the description: "Plasma cannons are a single-shot and a direct-fire weapon developed by the Allotek Industry for use in urban operations and confined space combat. The dense plasma discharge it generates is highly unstable, decaying rapidly and venting sufficient heat and energy to severely damage targets within its critical emission radius."
It's working as intended, and will vastly improve when the hit detection is cleared. o7
Added edit: I have a love for the Plasma Cannon and it's not unusual to see me running around in a light frame with one. |

Zero Notion wrote: Right. It's meant to be get close to vehicles and wipe them out. Nowhere does it say 'infantry' but, of course, it can be used as such. It's already slated for review.
On the flip side of that, it also doesn't say "vehicles", but we all know that it was meant to be also used for it. I hope that this upcoming "look" of their's doesn't damper the anti-infantry use of it. I've been wanting to use it for vehicles for a while, but FG is currently the anti-vehicle gun for now*.

XxGhazbaranxX wrote:There is no need. People haven't been using this weapon as it's supposed to be used; CQC. If you remember the video showing off the weapon the vehicle had to be close to the user. People havent actually given this weapon chance enough therefore saying it needs change. I've been using it nonstop, in a gallente logi mind you, so there is no cheating with a side arm and no one can tell me that the strd gallente is a battle worthy suit but The weapon still does it's job well. I kill tanks and LAVs infantry, you name it.
The fix is to change the bonuses given to the weapon by skills. Therefore people who are actually good with the weapon can skill into it and not have it be undewhelming; which in my opinion, the weapon is not underwhelming but balanced.
Even the projectile speed was made with balance in mind. An infantryman can quickly sidestep it and do so on a regular basis.
I really don't see what all this hype is about. It is one of the most balanced weapons in the game. All that damage potential is balanced by the need to understand and break into the weapon and it's mechanics because no other weapon behave in the manner this weapon does.
If this weapon is to be touched I seriously think CCP would make a huge error in judgement listening to people who don't give the weapon a second look after using maybe 10 or 20 of them.
That's the problem. People don't like balanced weapons.
Joking aside (well, half joking), if people actually cared to use half these weapons that they yell "nerf, nerf!" or "buff, buff!" at, we'd have a lot less of these cries. It doesn't matter if there are those of us with enough decency to try gear; they'll cry until it's FotM or removed from FotM.
Added note: I've been white knighting the PC for a while now. I think it's perfection as it is. Then again, I love arc weapons that can't be spammed to hell like a certain other weapon.
Ahhh... Flak Cannon... I miss you... |
