Arirana, of Ancient Exiles, was running around today with what looked like the RE out melee killing folks in seconds. He was getting approximately 3 hits (melee only mind you) per second, which from what I can tell is not actually possilbe, at least with a DS3.
Everyone in the squad tried melee attacking as quickly as they could with the DS3 and various weapons and equipment. None of us was able to match the speed Arirana was attacking at. The only thing that we could think of was that he was using a scout suit and maybe they can melee faster. This seems like a bug at best, and some sort of KBM exploit at worst. |

Yep. I've confirmed it as well. This is definitely an exploit and needs to be addressed. |

I'm glad you talked to him about it, and it really is too bad that he doesn't recognize it as a broken mechanic. Identifying and testing a mechanic to make sure it is broken is one thing but manipulating it to win battles, pc or otherwise, is unconscionable. Perhaps its just me but I feel like we need to help make the game fun for everyone buy not exploiting the games flaws and, while I know it isn't CCP's way, consequences should be handed down upon those who ruin the fun of others in such a manner.
As for now I think the best we can do with the likes of Ari is remember that they are exploiting a bug and not let them live it down. We have done this with WARRIORS INC; no one will forget those cheaters, and we shall do it with others. Social ostracism may be the best punishment we can meter out as a community. |
