It's a rail gun, it's supposed to have near instant travel time because it's hurling metal slugs at 7,000 m/s. Not even KinCat stackers can run from it.
You have to have line of sight to hit what you're aiming at with a forge gun, and since we can't ADS with it we have to expose our top half to use it because if you noticed we hold it a lot like the HMG.
To counter them use snipers, or forge guns or get better at flying DS. I either forge them back or use my MLT gorgon to get up where they are... I mean, yeah, I get blasted out of the sky a lot, but there are times where I can catch them off guard or fly better than they shoot.

They were either a protobear or threw all of their SP into weapons, which are things that you can't really avoid at the moment. Being on both sides of that issue (except I didn't skill into DS and use a gorgon with MLT afterburner and overdrive mod) you have to be moving almost constantly and never in a straight line to avoid forgers and redline rail tanks.
Also I don't know why any DS besides the assault type has turrets. The standard should be used for transport/ mCRU purposes. The Assault DS should be used for ground and pound and have some tanking capability to GTFO before they blow up. The Logi DS should tank as well as the Assault DS but instead of weapon turrets it should have Rep tools with pretty ridiculous range and the possibility of becoming a mobile supply depot. |

The FG is fine.
It's only "too" good because heavies can choose to fight back at a distance, and preferably with a height advantage... at that point you just use it back at them or get multiple people/snipers to concentrate fire and they're either dead or not willing to poke their heads out which ultimately means they can't hit you anymore.
Well fit and SP invested pilots should be able to only withstand 1-2 shots from a proto breach 2-3 from proto assault and basic. (assuming that they're using high slots for damage mods.)
If you're like me and run crap militia afterburner/overdrive fit just to get on top of buildings then expect to get one shot by most things. |
