I've been in contact with those that have decided to give dust514 a go, from playing the DUST 514 server in BF3.
10 people. 5 of them quit after one sitting. and four of them quit not that long after. 1 is still playing dust. for how long, I can't say. 1 out of 10.
what were the reasons? you know the reasons. its brought up everyday on these forums. anyway, I caved in to the demand to keep my server up over the double exp weekend, so we will see if any more are brought over to try dust.
This game is free, good thing too, cause IT'S A HARD SELL!

.....and 4 of them will be back, sooner or later. You know why? Because, at the end of the day....at its very core....it's free. That's why Dust will never fail completely. Juuuuuuust like MAG. (which was awful, btw.) |

Uh MAG was not awful whatsoever, you obviously played solo joe as Raven am I right? 5 years for an online shooter is pretty good. And nobody has ever put together a 256 player console battle before or since, untill PS2 on PS4.
I cant wait for Planetside 2 on PS4! |

In battlefield 3 any one that searches the server for DUST514, will find it. And once they go to server they are greeted by this Dust514 shamless advertisng.
And some text about bacon. any who i was surprised when it took off the way it did. Many new servers stay in perpetual 0 population. |

I'm one of the few coming from bf3 right when dust became open beta, and haven't looked back since. I stay because yes It's free,even though I've paid for packs, but I also stay for It's potential and the dev that's working on the game. Never really paid attention to the eve lore until this game. So I think CCP can pull this off seeing as there have been improvements. Plus this is a 10 year old dev making a fps for the first time. |

A fact I find particularly amusing.
CCP, the only games developer in the world that would "launch" a game without spending its advertising budget. |

As far as I am concerned, yes provided the game is fixed first.
Man that reminded me the first few days of officially being on the CPM and the first thing CCP tried to use us for is to show some reviewers around and we're like 'No, not the way the game is now, we're too embarrassed to show this off and were not marketing and we're definitely not David Reed.' |
