I was trying to prove a point that ANYBODY can pick pick up the basic MD and do good with it.(Including somebody who only has ONE level into the entire MD tree and has never used a Grenade launcher a day in his life in any shooter dating back since Socom2 on Playstation2) I even just ran around blindly like I do with AR I was running and gunning and was far more effective with the BASIC Mass Driver than I was with the Duvolle Assault Rifle.

This is EXACTLY my point. The noobs require a crutch. They require a gun that does not take any aim whatsoever to use. A gun where you can just shoot in the general direction of your opponent(s) and not care if you hit the enemy or not because you still do a crazy amount of damage (crazy for NOT landing the shot over 100dmg)

The Mass Driver is not like an AR. You do not point-and-click, and get an instant automatic hit if you're on target. The projectiles have a long travel time and fire at an arc. Because of this, there is no way that anyone ever goes around getting 100% direct hits. Yes, I almost always go for splash damage because that is the only thing that is practical. But even then, at any significant distance, or anything other than the optimal situation for the MD, it is difficult to hit with the splash damage.
So please just stop, all you're doing in continually proving how clueless you are about this situation.
Yes, it was "CLEARLY" difficult to aim and manipulate the splash damage, LOL! Truth be told the BASIC MD was some of the easiest kills I have ever got in this game to date(To be fair I never used a FoTM)

I really wish some of you rampant sh!t talkers about the MD would try it, and please let me know how simple it is to run around getting direct hits 100% of the time.

Anything in any game that can kill people in one shot should take skill to use. Splash damage is not a problem in itself but it needs steeper falloff, so that at the edge of the splash radius it basically does nothing.
I used to use mass drivers way back in Codex and they were just fine back then. I still don't understand why the clip was increased 2 shots from the original 4 to the current 6. |

Easy fix. ammo capacity should be 3 rounds for basic and adv, 4 rounds for proto. Keep current splash damage as is, but increase direct damage by around 20-30% For those that are good, this will keep the MD as a very lethal weapon. For the majority of its current users (who are pretty bad) it will be useless. (as is the AR for those who cant aim) |

This is an Extra Credits video about balancing for skill. It really touches on the points you're trying to make. I don't particularly agree with you, but there certainly is a need for a sort of "noob tube" weapon in Dust. If the MD was that, then the game should really point players in that direction. Not just let them incidentally drift towards it. |

I ran MD logi on my main in chromosome and recall MD is far more effective when squadmates are there to resupply ammo, drop shields, provide distraction, and cover you while you reload. Also, friendly fire all but nullifies it's utility as a godmode support weapon.

I really don't like using a crutch, I might take your point into consideration though. Had I kept taking pictures I would had about 6 games one being against N san.
I will probably do this tomorrow. Just to prove a point of course or maybe start tonight. It really is not that hard to use a MD anybody who is NOT defending it because it's their crutch to make them relevant can EASILY see this. |

I ran in gun the entire time. I lone wolf from my team all the time. I don't stay with my teammates I am always off getting kills. I only play squaded up to know I have capable players with me to win the game. I hate losing more than I wanna win. |

Wish to be more like Cubs. A area denial is just another crutch scrubs way of trying to give it purpose. It still rewards you in 1v1 far more than any gun. It's the only gun that teaches it's users that you don't need to shoot the target you just need to keep shooting grenades in the area. |

Its an AOE weapon, do you even understand the concept of AOE??
It means Area of Effect, no one goes into a game with a mass driver with the intentions of direct hitting everything. You should focus your tears on truely OP weapons like contact nades, AV nades or Forgeguns |
