This weapon is too powerful, IMO, to be in the hands of every single player the moment they download Dust. 1 shotting proto suits and such. Very silly.
I would like instead to see militia versions of lasers, nova knives, MD, and scram rifle. |

No, just make the forge gun shake more when charging up.

They could adjust the charge time or ammo instead. Really, more MLT stuff is better, as Protocake suggests.
It gives new players a chance to try things out. Consider that for most older players... dropping 12k SP to unlock a STD forge-gun is a laughable barrier to entry. You'd be hurting new people trying the gun out more than the playerbase at-large. |

Keep the MLT forge, just make it do just shy of a OHK on a proto heavy or something like that.
Or if it is removed they would have to add a MLT HMG, the MLT forge is the only MLT heavy weapon, that and needing weaponry 5 to get any non-MLT heavy weapon means that of course any new heavy is going to run a MLT forge. |

Right. There are militia heavy suits (well, there's one and the BPOs), and the only option you have without skills is the forge gun. A starting player has 500k SP, it'd take 310k of that to unlock heavy weapon operation.
Really though, the lack of other heavy suits and other heavy weapons is part of the issue there. |

They should do something. Even if it's just making it more expensive. I played so many matches today and the number 1 reason of dying were forge guns. Also everything exploded. It was like Dust 514 directed by Michael Bay. There never was a second without an explosion, really. |

Unless a player knows exactly what they want to spec into from the beginning, then there should be a Militia Forge gun. Like Zeylon said, it would take 310k SP just to get heavy weapon operation. If there was no militia forge gun, how would the blueberries know if they want to spec into them? But i also agree with the idea that there should be Militia versions of all weapons EXCEPT laser rifles, as they require a greater amount of skill to use than most weapons. There could be a Militia Mass Driver with only 4 rounds and reduced damage, or a scrambler rifle that builds up heat faster. That's just my 2 cents :) |

I would still like to see a shooting range where you can test out all the weapons without needing skills. |

You know what I think? Get rid of all Militia gear.
Before anyone has a fit, I simply suggest that skills are no longer required to use or equip weapons/mods/suits/vehicles/whatever, but it is very advisable as using something you're not skilled in high enough causes a CPU/PG penalty of, say, 5%. Per tier. Except for suits, only STD suits are wearable by all, all other suits have to be skilled into.
So for instance, if a new player or just anyone in general wants to use the Forge Gun without speccing several 100k SP just to unlock it, that's their choice... but for a price. |
