After the recent update giving new players a sort of "tutorial phase", in which their battles are all with similar new players fighting over 1 objective point (basically domination) without anyone able to pubstomp them, and after starting an account for my girlfriend and letting her play Dust, she really enjoyed the first few hours being in those Academy battles, because everyone was on her level, making it a lot easier for someone who's brand new to the game like her begin to adapt to it. However, the point at which CCP thrusts players straight into the "real world" of Dust so-to-speak is far too short. All it takes is 400 WP, which can be accumulated by any horrible player in around 2-3 matches. It only took my girlfriend 2 matches before she was then offered the random pub-stomping matches in skirmish, ambush, and domination. Sure enough, she began to grow frustrated with no longer being able to kill anyone because of how tougher they were.
Now, this can also be attributed to the fact that she still needs to learn how to aim a bit better, but there should really be more of a focus on keeping those players in the "battle academy" until they truly understand the ins & outs of combat, or they should just keep the "battle academy" a completely different mode that any player can chose, where all you can pick is the base-milita fittings, matches that are perfect for showing the jist of Dust to new players whenever they want. Not a cruel and short-lived "tutorial" phase that only lasts 2 games before throwing players into the uncontrolled pub matches that are so often stomped by mass corps. CCP, if you just either made a game-mode that only lets you pick milita fits so the playing field is 100% leveled, or extend the WP new players have to earn to about 1500 or 2000 instead of 400, it would really help. |

You need to change that ASAP back to 10k or more AND give all people below 5m SP unlimited boosting. This is bullshit. Following game happened 20sec ago, 2 squads and me vs a bunch of new player who need to learn this game step by step. picture |

agreed 400 is WAY too small.
That's 8 kills. (not including hacks, assists, revives.)
They should also really add a tutorial. Like shooting AI and explaining the different equipment, weapons, game modes, war points. blah blah |

i think dust itself is getting a little bit overblown. its frustrating for new players it runs the risk of being a no noobs game . just like dota |

After seeing how bad the beginning is for new players, i can tell why they can't really earn more people. They make the learning curve wayy too steep for regular console gamers, and that's one thing they probably didn't anticipate they needed to adjust for, a leap from PC gamers to Console unfortunately does warrant a more in-depth tutorial for new players, because they often aren't as skilled as players who bought top of the line PC's. |

CCP needs to put the war point requirements to get out of the academy back. CCP, you are doing a disservice to the game in general. I have proto suits and proto weapons but don't use them because It's more cost effective, at least for me, to use cheap suits and be a bit more aggressive with my play style and am honestly a greedy player that always likes to make isk, but even with basic weaponry and suits I was destroying blueberries that where still trying to shoot at the mcc because they did not know any better.
Please CCP, making it a domination was a good choice but lowering the sp to get out of it 400 was a big mistafe. I am hopeful that this was a mistake and that it will be promptly changed.
I do agree that if a player so chooses to they can leave the academy like a high school dropout but it should be their choice. Those first few day of playing (trials By Fire because they are the hardest) should be spent with people that have the same sp/experience. |

I made a new character last night and got 1200 WP in my first match. I don't know whether to be happy or sad that I'm out. |

My point exactly, all it takes is practically one good match to be shoved out of the tutorial mode. It's completely dumb, CCP is really hurting themselves with this |

It sort of just makes me wonder why they ask for our feedback. I mean, I think there was pretty much unanimous consensus that the WP cap should be increased from 10,000, not cut by more than 90%
Hopefully they realize that this is a mistake soon, because this seems like a pretty terrible one. |

CCP, the console gamer is not the pc gamer, I started eve only a few days after I played dust. I had never heard of CCP until 6 months ago when I saw the free download on the psn store. in eve there is a vast tutorial on how to do everything, in fact it even runs you through missions to better help you understand the millions of things you can do. ive played for 6 months and still find things i wish i knew earlier on. the introduction to dust for the new player is extremely little. none of the tutorials help the new player find what they need to find. only after the player randomly presses circle next to an object does the AI give a little description about it. many new players don't even know how to get to the chat box or find a channel, let alone type or even activate there microphone. in eve the chat channel is right there and since it is a pc game most people already know how to type with the keyboard. please give a better tutorial for the new guys, they very much need it. and extend the academy, then extend it even further by creating a game mode where only starter fits are aloud to be used. this would give the new guys a chance to be on some equal grounds with vets. |

I went through three characters before I settled on this one, due to spending my SPs in all the wrong places and having no idea what was going on back in the 10k academy. A 400 academy is a joke, it's basically taking a child, giving them a piece of candy, then the next game, you give em a bloody steak and throw them into a pit of ravenous wolves.
This game is very very difficult to pick up for a new player, and this only makes things far worse to the one person who tries it, has fun the first one or two matches, then gets stomped into the curb until they can't do anything.
It's bad enough when those of us with experience get redlined, now imagine if you're brand new to all this. It's like firing a gun in your backyard once or twice, then tossed into the middle of a warzone with nothing but your 22. |

400 WP is only 8 kills. Every match i played in the Academy with my Alt character i got more than 400 WP. 400 is far too small for noobs to get good at this game before going out and getting pub stomped. |

CCP, I am an FPS pro and i've gotta tell you that YOU ARE KICKING OUT NEW PLAYERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i decided too make a new character and start from scratch,as i always been good in this game with my advanced armor and weapons i was reeeaaaaly good in killing people. starting with my militia items and dropping off in an ambush game i was like 1 KILL 13 DEATHS... it's not that i wasn't aiming right or the opposite team was super skilled, they were just all dressed up pro. My militia gun was doing scratches to they're armor and i had to put 3 bullets when i went sniper against an ADVANCED armor, ok this is WAY PAY TO WIN game and i am not going to give my money in this game no matter what...just informing that the only people which will play the game in the future are those who PAYED money and no new people will join.. i am NOT RANTING just pointing out that if a PRO PLAYER can't compete with militia weapons against a PRO ARMOR no skills there is no need to point things out... i know a lot of you people will say i spended SP and i got better F U this is called a GAME not I PAY MORE AND I BURN MY BRAINS OUT.

I've been going into countless amounts of games now where our teams are able to just pub stomp the other team with absolute ease, because they are more than likely all new players. This is an absolute mess. |

Why would one pay reel monies ADV gear? ADV and PRO just means those people played longer than you, Ive got proto suits recently and I didnt pay a single cent. |
