The shells detonate on impact, so how about a minimum travel time before the shell is armed and capable of detonating. This way it only deals damage in CQC situations if its a direct hit. Everything would remain the same but it would just be ineffective in close quarters. It would have to be a long travel time just enough to prevent short range engagements. |

I was thinking about this and I think a slight delay after it impacts an object before exploding would be better, that also gives it more versatility in urban combat since youll now be able to bank shots off the terrain to attack the enemy while being out of the direct line of fire yourself |

I could be wrong but it seems like they take less damage from the splash than the enemy does. My tactic is to usually close distance on them fast and hang right close to them as I fire. However it seems they dont take the same damage as I do. Could be wrong. |

Doesn't the MD splash damage apply at all ranges from the center? I'd think that making the range from the explosion scale with the damage dealt would make the forums a much quieter place. |

Quit Dust if you don't like the MD. It's a primary weapon that finely works again. AR users can consistently beat a MD user if they play tactically. Quit the QQing over a primary weapon that should work and deter grouping. I'm tired of all the AR users QQ over the MD. It still takes 2-4 shots to kill someone with MD after you take their shields in a 1 v 1. If your going against 2 people, one with scram and MD then your screwed you shouldn't be going against two people. |

Rush an MD with a grenade or a Flux grenade, somebody is going to die. With a flux you switch the odds in your favor, unless your a Caldari. Although the ROF is pretty high on the MD but aside from that it takes some skill to get the shots in. |

The best balance IMO could be achieved by getting the game to run at a consistent 30 FPS somehow. Low FPS are a nerf to all non-explosive weapons, so if you try to balance against that, explosive weapons will have to suck under good conditions. |

I'm trying to help the MD users, all the spam happening will lead to a nerf and I'm throwing out a balancing idea that doesn't change damage or radius. |

As a MD user I like this idea this would cut down on suicides thanks to random bluedots deciding running infront of a guy firing a grenade launcher is a good idea. As long as it ment it could still be used in CQC but required a bit more skill I would be fine with this.
However most people complaining about the MD are moaning about being killed by someone on a roof with one and this change obviously wouldn't effect that so the calls for nerf would still come thick and fast. |
