In a different post, I said put a limit on how high up you could go on buildings to snipe. Someone said it makes the game more interesting to worry about above you as well. After really thinking about this, I agree.
However, I went up high, and did it, and had a really nice round. I just threw down a nanohive to restock my ammo, and sniped. I do think it's a bit unfair still to the people down below, so I was thinking of a way to make it more challenging for the sniper, yet still let them do it.
I'd like to see a sniping system similar to BF3. Those who've played it know what I mean. It'd be much more interesting if snipers up high shooting downward had to account for dropshots and windage, thngs like that. I think that's a fair balance. I for one would actually enjoy the challenge personally. Just wondering what others would think about that. |

No. It's already hard enough with the crappy rate of fire, crappy draw distance, crappy scopes, being unable to make micro-adjustments, etc. Just leave snipers alone already. |

I'm only saying up top. If you're shooting linear, or up a bit like in a tower or something but not all the way up to an insane height, leave it alone. I'm only talking about shooting down vertically, or from up high and shooting an extraordinarily far distance.
However, if they did this, they should incorporate a zoom function for the scope. |

To be fair, all the classes and weapons need some work. This was just something that dawned on me while I was sniping. Usually, I play assault. |

Sniping isn't that hard in DUST and it should be a bit more challanging but in reasonable way. IMHO Bulletdrop on a Rail gun makes absolutly no sense. I would rather go with constant scope sway and a hold breath button (to stabilize the scope) that eats stamina. |

With a rail gun it doesn't make sense either way. |

I didn't say I wanted it to be BF3, I was just suggesting a similar feature. All shooter games borrow from each other at some point, and Dust is no different. I still call LAV's warthogs. The BF3 sniping system is good, it requires more skill to make the shot, but not insurmountable. Something has to be done to even things out in rooftop warfare. As I said, I think it should be allowed, but it needs to be more of a challenge to get a kill if you're going to give yourself that much of an advantage being up there.
Besides, it's not like you have to worry about anyone coming up there to get you without you knowing about it, so you should have all the time in the world to line up your shot without worrying about getting shot in the back. |

Doesn't really go a long with the lore of the railgun.
The scope sway is a nice idea.
Ideally give us a way to reach all snipers and better ways to pinpoint their location. It's far too easy to hide a top a building or in the redline and snipe with no chance of dying.
Why is directional sounding so bad in this game and damage indication limited to 4 zones? |
