Please remove this, at least against infantry. I don't know why they're even designed this way.
I can handle getting core flaylock'ed, I can handle getting Thale'd I could handle being TACAR'ed, I could even handle being Viziam'ed back in the day.
But nothing, NOTHING has felt more cheap and unfair than being killed by "Large Blaster Installation"
Especially when it hits you through a crack in the stairs from across the map.
Auto-firing on vehicles is fine, but unless a turret is manned please remove its ability to auto-fire on Infantry.
Thoughts? |

Thoughts? I dunno on this one. Yes it's massively annoying but it's saved my life once or twice. |

I think it's wonky as all hell. I've seen turrets that refuse to fire at anything six feet away and I've seen them hold down objectives completely alone and it's hilarious.
I like that taking a turret has meaning beyond just being manned creates a reason to capture it and should make your enemies fear fighting near.
But either way I'm not really attached to so you could remove the feature just make it consistent. Some turrets are crack shots and snipe guys out of moving LAVS and others will overheat themselves firing at something that is completely out of range. |

Nah, I like the turrets... even though they shoot me out of my LLAV once in awhile; its pretty hilarious to see a letter held down by a single turret. |

If anything I'd like the turrets to be smarter. Keeping one active near a null cannon would be so much more meaningful |

I haven't tested this myself but I believe turrets have two situations when they fire at you. 1) If you shoot at them, 2) if you come close to them and they are pointing at you. I believe the two distances are different -- they will fire further if you shoot them. That makes them pretty easy to avoid.
As for getting hit all the way across the map -- I'm pretty sure that will happen only if the turret is manned.
This is almost the only PvE in the game (unless you count RDV drivers dropping vehicles on you). I'm for leaving it in -- perhaps buffing them so they aren't so crunchy. Three shots from a tank will kill them.
I don't know the effort involved in adding player placement of them but I'd like to see them as an option when your squad gets 2500 war points.
No turrets at the start, a buff so they don't die so easily and player placement would open up a lot of game play options. |

1. Purchase militia forge gun and militia heavy suit 2. Purchase cheap LAV 3. Call in LAV at the start of game with your forge gun, blow up installations 4. Free WP, no mess
The turrets need more than small changes; they need a total overhaul (just like many aspects of the game). They're so easily destroyed by tanks and AV. Even my flux grenades and mass driver can destroy them. When manned, I can get a few kills before the enemy catches on and destroys it. When unmanned, they're a nuisance, sure, but never game-changing.
They're way too weak, but if we make them stronger then we'll need to give them a small turret; or totally change them to make them fortified 'huts' that up to four mercenaries can enter like vehicles, except they're unmovable. Give them a small turret on each side, and buff HP by at least 300%. |

Installations are currently a too small nuisance, not even that. They are so easy to take down, they can be hacked, only rarely they fire effect.
Turret installations should be buffed so they would really bring some sort of area control to the battlefield! |
