The total PG of the tanks is equal to proto tanks I believe. But I'm not spending money on equipment that's not BPO and ADV/PRO level.

Isn't there a skill that increases melee damage though??? I usually kill people close enough with melee, although they have shields down. It seems it's very good vs armor but weak vs shields.
