The PS3 uses a SATA (SATA-150) controller that has a maximum transfer speed of 1.5 Gb/s so to save money get a SATA 1 SSD their really cheap and worth it imo sure beats the stock 54k RPM *****

its true people can run custom firmware on their PS3's now but it doesn't give them an advantage in anyway. unless you consider an overlay that displays ps3 cpu/memory and temp an unfair advantage.
