I don't think assist points would hurt. I mean, even if you shoot a merc before he drops down a mountain side to his death, you get an assist. I just spent a long time trying to get one down, but he hit a building, bailed, and none of the damage ...

I have noticed that doing damage to dropships or even killing them outright is not registering as a kill or an assist. I have heard that the dropship has to hit the ground for it to register as anything and yet no points are being awarded in tho...
