If you rub an HAV against a solid object, it goes nuts, vibrating the screen really wildly. I'm pretty sure it happens with bumping into an object as well, and not just grinding against it.

I saw one of the most intense spawncampfests end at 15v9. I'm not sure if it's just a display bug, or is a result of a mass exodus from one team and multiple people joining at the same time to fill the empty slots.
