And I know I keep going back to Lost Planet 2 with my suggestions, but they have a something called a V-Device SP that gave radial invisibility to anyone on your team that was inside the bubble. So you get "cover" at the expense of movement.

Sounds good but the only problem with that is that the enemy will still know where you're at because of the chevrons that are on screen anyway. Now when they introduce electronic warfare, and combine a smoke grenade w/ signature-cloaking nanites.....
