Question -- Once you create a merc corp (here in the beta), can you hand leadership over to another corp mate like an EVE Online? (In EVE, when you resign as a CEO you can designate a replacement.)

Well, from parts of the Templar One novel I am assuming that unlike capsuleer clones which are grown from their own bodies, we are inhabiting "ready made" clones with hardened bones and joints, maybe flourocarbons instead of blood, etc etc.
