In October CCP announced that it was breaking up Team Avatar and putting the station exploration prototype that CCP t0rfifrans and CCP Bayesian had announced in February: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=2023393
I believe that (F2P, free to download) DUST 514 is the logical platform for this type of play in New Eden.
EVE Online players might be hesitant to risk their clones in a situation where they might "die" every few minutes (not even counting the cost of implants, a Clone Grade Sigma that holds 71-92M skill points costs ISK 20M). But some certainly would. And DUST 514 mercs come readily equipped for the job.
Imagine "tactical clones" for EVE Online players that are a bit slower and more fragile than a base-level DUST 514 merc, but which still outstrip baseline human stats (since Empyreans are already used to implants and augmentations galore). Perhaps those types of clones, as well as ordinary DUST 514 merc clones, could be carried in a modified CRU that fits on battle cruisers and command ships like it was a warfare link module (I wouldn't recommend that it require the Cloning Facility Operation skill like a Clone Vat Bay I does, since that skill requires Capital Ships-III).
Station exploration could become a fun PvEvP environment for DUST 514 and EVE Online player crossover, as well as yet another skill point sink for EVE Online bitter vets (but make 'em learn DUST 514 skills at a quarter of the speed as a merc would learn the same skill). And, of course, it would let us DUST 514 mercs see even more of the fascinating world of New Eden. ;) |

I Don't Get it do you want a Mode where you explore Space Stations and Ships. that would be cool if there was Bandits to Clear out of a Station or Aliens. but just walking around not that fun |

Already been planned. That prototype if you read it had them going into a sleeper site. They also mentioned in there that they did put two seperate groups inside the structure to look around. So PVP is possible in that situation. |

It's like Octavian Vetiver mentioned -- you'd have more than one group. So you'd be up against whatever was in the site (drones, rat factions like Blood Raiders, or Sleepers/Talocan/Takhmal/Yan Jung-set guardians), AND possibly other players.
The prototype mentioned in February and shut down in October sounded like it was based on EVE Online's Walking in Stations (WiS) initiative. But that kind of combat is a DUST 514 specialty. I think that it would be smarter to develop such a thing on THIS platform, just in case they weren't sure -- and it would give us more variety, and more reason for capsuleers to hire us. |

It is carbon based. However the issue you run into with that is getting the mercs onto a ship and then into the station and out again. It's not like EVE ships have an actual layout, it's a mesh object. The major, really major thing is. If the ship is destroyed what happens to mercs for one? And the second is, how do you keep said mercs from being crazily bored while waiting for the capsuleers to kill the sleepers or any contenders for the site. |

Drones are in my station? let me kill them.
Just want to chill in a POS or a NPC owned station with other mercs / pilots
I'd go for either or both. |

I'd rather see it ported to DUST 514, myself.

Agreed; that is why I recommended a ship-mounted CRU, both to spawn "expendable" clones for capsuleers and to spawn the local DUST 514 merc clones. Loss of that module would pop the DUST 514 merc back to their latest planet. (As it is I suspect that we will be beaming our consciousnesses around the cluster faster than any inty could dream of flying. Or at least I hope so; I'd hate to have to move my "primary" DUST 514 clone around by capsuleer or Interbus!)

That is actually the bigger issue, I think! |
