I like to switch to my rep tool before hitting O to revive my fallen comrade. Immediately upon revival, it switches me back to my needle. Why do I want my needle equipped?! I just "quick revived" the merc to save time and not have to select my nee...

Another idea would be a gun that shoots a pulse round that will disperse in a cone in front of the user. This pulse would only do damage to shields an electronics. To make sure this gun isn't ridiculously OP it would only do mild damage to shields...

What about a version of the hmg that shoots like the large blaster turrets? Think of it as a breach hmg. Slower rate of fire higher damage a more range.
