Really they don't need to be removed. I think tightening the splash radius and giving it lower damage will make it balanced. I'd say 1.5 radius and 350 damage for the standard version and 2.5 splash and 425-50 damage for the prototype would be fine.

The Ps3 has A LOT of bottlenecks which limit the ps3's processing power. Most devs that have been continuously developing on the ps3 have created tricks to achieve much more processing power. Thankfully the ps4 is heard to have very few bottlenecks.
