I put an LR on mine. The sizziling death beam is alrady visible from orbit (unlike the invisible RR rounds... will never not be bitter about that) so it's really no difference to me tactically; Same visibility, but with 952% more fab-u-lous !

Oh, and to answer your actual question, I don't think region setting for FW matters either. However, 6 minutes is not that crazy of a wait time. It's a product of not enough people queing on one side or the other (or maybe both).
