To put it simple, sometimes the dead location ahd the medic icon location do NOT match. So you may have to move around until you catch the right spot, but I understand it's a real pain if there are enemies nearby.

Considering the number of DUST players, you're not giving much of details. More likely, they were from another world zone (Asia?) and the massive lag resulted in you being unable to hit them since when you were aiming, they had already moved elsew...

I brought this up too some ago, and I understand it's totally crazy that your suit cannot recognize an enemy HAV if it is moving 11 meters away from you (remember all normal and heavy armors have a scan range of 10 m.).
