62. Heavy thread continued - in Rookie Training Grounds [original thread]
Because, while the armor repairing rate would be phenomenal, there would still be obvious weaknesses of the heavy suit. Sure, you may heal faster after battle, but your stamina and speed are still awful, and without regulators or kincats you can't...

I tend to avoid any sudden drops or tight spaces as a Heavy: always ends badly.

64. Heavy Suit Lessons Learned From Victory - in Rookie Training Grounds [original thread]
Yeah the fact that you can often get yourself killed because you can't get over a slight obstacle or because you are more likely to get stuck on stuff when you run is ridiculous. Sometimes I know that I screwed up and got myself into a bad situati...

65. Heavy Suit Lessons Learned From Victory - in Rookie Training Grounds [original thread]
That is a riddle which will never be solved. Maybe it's a side effect of the weight of the suit? I don't know. I'm used to just going around railings by now so I don't even think of it, but it is quite annoying. Guess that's another reason I like ...

66. Heavy Suit Lessons Learned From Victory - in Rookie Training Grounds [original thread]
I edited to specify that I was using a Boundless HMG. Thanks for pointing that out. I wasn't able to fit much more into the post so I didn't include many tips on the HMG, but if you or anyone else wants to see how I use the HMG, I have a thread ab...

67. Heavy Suit Lessons Learned From Victory - in Rookie Training Grounds [original thread]
Who said that failure had to teach you everything? Sometimes you learn a good bit of information from those moments when you absolutely annihilate all who dare to stand in your way. Anyways, onto the great lessons learned from such sweet victorie...

68. 5M+ SP How to spend - in Rookie Training Grounds [original thread]
I've got a Sentinel build with 5.6 mil SP that has worked wonders for me. I've got breakdown of it here: https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=98481&find=unread I would also go to the guide posted earlier by Bears Beets. It'...

70. A Heavy's Autobiography (A Guide for Aspiring Heavies) - in Rookie Training Grounds [original thread]
As far as Sentinel, I've found that it does what the name suggests: defends. Module difference is the key give away. You have 4 low slots and 1 high slot in the proto Sentinel. This means two things: 1) You only have room for one heavy damage mod...

Thanks, I just saw your "Immortal Heavy" guide. It's great stuff. Also, is your name a reference to Dwight from the Office?

72. Skill point accumulation, questions. - in Rookie Training Grounds [original thread]
Not sure about active, but with passive skill boosters you get 36,000 a day, multiply it with 30 days and you get 1,080,000 in the 30 day time if you decide to just quit for that entire time.

73. The Skill Tree Think Tank: Also a core mechanic. - in Feedback/Requests [original thread]
No problem, and thanks for the +1! I definitely see the potential applications in your idea and definitely support the concept. Some bonuses for dropsuits do seem random and sometimes barely helpful, so tweaking them to support what the suit is go...

One thing I would consider adding would be a "related skills" bonus that would allow you to receive slight SP requirement drop for certain skills related to other skills. For example, take armor plates and a Gallente dropsuit since they speciali...

There will always be advantages that veterans have over new players. They played before the new players, and their experience and gear was earned just as you are earning your gear now. It's the same way in any game. Battlefield 3 and MAG are prime...
