Still here. MAG was good but from what people say that it felt like huge battles, those moments were scarce. For a console game it managed to pull off the 256 player count but it was not dynamic. People were split apart, you'd go through an entire match without seeing the other halves of the teams. It was good but had its flaws. Dust on the other hand...pretty much just has potential to ride on. The thought of it becoming very good in time, but being a mediocre game that gets pushed aside faster than MAG. Most people who hated on MAG were people who didn't even play the game. |

MAG Domination, anyone? 256 players, huge maps, strategies required to win. Oh, and don't forget proximity chat. God, that was great, prox chat! Mag vets are a joke. If I remember correctly it was the mag vets in closed beta that everyone would point and laugh at. When i hear 'MAG' i think of the biggest moron in this game: Contrabanjoe. MAG Vet? They are as irrelevant as the garbage game was. If it wasn't for MAG, I wouldn't be interested teaming up with random squads and play as a team. As you can see, this game is becoming COD garbage because of other players not going into the objectives and just snipe from the farthest region of the map and the highest mountain of God knows where. In MAG, there is such thing called team kill, if you camp like a pus sy, my bullet will be aimed on your head. MAG was a huge failure of a game lol You really think anyone here wants the so called 'knowledge' of players from a game that tanked extremely hard and extremely fast? I sure as hell dont. DONT ruin this game and make it any thing like that POS game CCP, unless you want dust to fail as horribly as that game did.
Dust is currently "failing", mostly because they can't even get the most basic of the basics right, like aiming, hit detection and basic movement. MAG is extremely good at those very important qualities.
Dust in its current state is very boring, only two game modes with either "keep those letters blue" or "kill those red dots". Where are the tactical progressive gamemodes we where primised? We had Skirmish 1.0, wich was great, and its been gone for a year for some strange reason. It looks a lot more now than in early beta like the hated COD that so many of you want to avoid.
MAG sold over a million copies + whatever they sold via PSN. Dust can barely make the same number in terms of accaounts made, and its a free to play game.... |

What you meant "trying"?... they doing a pretty good job so far. If i was CCP i will do the opposite to anything that the so call "MAG vets" says... or at least try to listen to the other portion of the community that have years of experience in FPS games, and not just MAG. |

I'd rather see CCP take the game in the direction they want for once, our opinions be damned. We have too many players that come from different gaming backgrounds that want this to be just like those games and cut off the rest of the community. You appeal to one side, the others aren't going to be satisfied and if you appeal to everyone, nobody is satisfied.

They are bad... Badass don't know why you think contract hunters are bad but keep in kind they are a more casual corp then a competitive corp. The fact that most of their players only joined on 5/14 doesnt help so it will take them a bit longer to catch up. Once they do though I am sure they will be as effective as they were in MAG.

Because we were part of something completely unique and also extremely addictive.
What other shooter do people dump 5000 hours into?
MAG will be played until the day they shut down the servers. It will be 4 years and a dam good 4 years at that! No game shall ever replace MAG. DUST will never be able to compare. |

Why, yes, yes I do.
Seriously though, I am sure that most of us understand and agree that "Dust Gëá Mag and it never will". However, for all of the loathsome hate heaped on us I really think that we're (mostly) just trying to help ensure that the same mistakes aren't made here. Beyond that, there are things that Dust could be doing better and we've seen working examples of what I imagine CCP is trying to do.
It is less about making Dust into MAG 2 and more about trying to convey what we've seen work and what we've seen not work.
I don't view that as a bad thing. |

Hey Idiot! Mavado is a MAG vet. He currently runs EON alliance. Perhaps you have heard of them. Yes he left the game after awhile like a few of us others did, but he did play if for awhile and was quite a beast at that game too. Guess what else, genius, lots of the top players in this here game called dust are mag vets

While I understand what you're saying, I have to disagree (to do otherwise would be to say "ignore me").
I think that the mistake that was made in the beta involves which MAGgots were listened to. I mean, AFAIK, the earliest Beta Testers (outside of CCP employees) were MAGgots, though from what I know of who they were, I'd wager that they were looking to tank Dust from the start.
Self-important, self-proclaimed "elite" megalomaniacs and their sycophants and yesmen are never a good thing and that is the crowd that CCP decided to pull in first. TBH, I'm surprised this resembles Eve as much as it does (which really isn't that much if you ask me) and isn't even more of a brainless lobby shooter sales vehicle. |
