Point out where it says your suit has a 50m scan radius. Most suits only have a base range of 10-20 meters. Assaults are in the 15 range with maxed skills. If you want more, you're going to have to use a lot of modules or spec into scouts.

Well, for practice, I'd suggest trying to run another suit with no ewar capabilities. One thing I've noticed is that once you get used to running suits that won't let you see nearby enemies or be easily dampened, running scouts becomes much easier...
