I got off of playing for a couple and Amarr & Caldari are still getting their faces stomped. It feels as if all the New Players of Dust and Nubs Went Amarr & Caldari. This crap is horrible. Even if you wanted to play FW for Gallente & Minmitar, you better have patience and enjoy those 5 - 7 Minute waiting times.
A Question Pops up in my head. .
How were these APEX suits intended for The New Guys of Dust ? If you have to get 100 Winning Games in & play around 200 in all to account for the losses. Not only that you need to run Proto to Compete if you play Amarr or Caldari.

More has to be done to incentivize and push people to group up.
I think it's clear the vast majority of players feel like it's not worth their time. Especially when they spend the majority of their time in pubs where effort and winning actually lead to less profit.

You could take some time to put together a 16 team to sync Cal and/or Amarr and win 80% of your matches easily. Even if it took 2 hours to set it up you'd be making more progress by winning instead of losing all the time.
It's weird that all these people that complain can't figure that out.
Get some scouts running in uplinks and the squad leaders arranging dropships to the city (one at ground spawn and one from MCC). Focus on uplinks in the beginning (have a few people continue to kill and deploy them).
Use a tanker or two to control an outside point with help from a good slayer scout or two.
Encourage people to have AV fits.
You could spend very little ISK and win most of your matches if you took a little while to build some proper squads and followed some variation of the strategy above.

You can and groups from PIE Ground Control and Amarr1 can and do........ where players get the idea the organised Amarr players are not winning their matches from is beyond me, however not everyone want to squad up or sync. That's their prerogative.

^^^ All of the above ^^^ I Q synced with Kirjuun Heiian all weekend and we only lost 1 game. You can't just hop into these channels and expect 15 other mercs waiting for you. It takes time. Voice in. Take lead if nobody else is doing it.
Or you can just go play solo because it gets you in a game quickly then rage quit when you get stomped and come whine about it.
EDIT: For post's sake... I thought 100k LP was alot but once I played over the week I realized its not really that big of a gring if you can get a good gang going. Going forward I think they will provide a LITTLE more incentive to play FW... At least they aren't doubling our LP for all of those Scout ck.o's and Sentinals I can't buy in the loyality store. |

I was playing quite a bit of FW before the Apex suits came out. always for the Gallente. Im Lv6. There used to be alot of militia suits, then when the Apex came out, there was proto suits everywhere. I got sick salvage, and there was a period where I had something like 9 wins in a row.
But now, Im getting more defeats here and there, and have noticed alot of Federation Apex suits fighting on the Caldari side. See the people who play this game alot....generally tend to like collecting things. They will move faction to faction to gather the Apex fits they want. So these proto stomps wont last forever.
Give it enough time, and FW matches will be a great , balanced place to play full of people in Apex fits. By then, hopefully, CCP will adjust so that we get a bit of standing for losing and a bit more LP. See its expensive running proto and paying 10 million per fit. The more suits these guys buy, the more they will be inclined to use them. I run solo 95% of the time and I expect to buy my first Apex this weekend. If I can do it, so can you.
Also, on a side note, FW is rough. Its fighting for the territory of an empire. You should expect it to be a difficult, bloody, unforgiving match. The other night I was up against a good Caldari team with a AE squad. Got them 3 times in a row. I knew I was probably going to lose but i tried anyway. Its not like being stomped in a casual match where I was just chillin. In FW, i know what I signed up for, and I accept the consequences when we lose the fight. |

I'm level 4, Rank-2 (....), and I have always found FW matches to be technically difficult and rough compared to Public Matches. And the member who posted just ahead of mine is very CORRECT. FW SHOULD be a bloody hard shell to crack. It should separate players who are simply ace at shooting/killing/strafing,... from players who are simply ace at what Dust 514 is about! Currently, it's about assessing your neighboring players' movements, and syncing your actions with theirs in order to WIN THE CONFLICT.
Sometimes winning is done by snatching the objectives (or simply holding the majority of the objectives until the ticking clock causes the red players to lose the conflict).
Sometimes winning is done by strangling the reds into a corner (because they were not a cohesive team with a method for moving around the map), and slaughtering them while the few loners in your blue team stroll over and hack whatever suits their fancy.
But if you are a seasoned player at FW, winning ALWAYS requires you to study how your blue players are behaving in this match, and DECIDE how best you can help them (and minimize your frustration while you're playing ).
If you study the blues behavior and find they are moving in strong groups and aiming for hacks early, be a Jedi General and stay with them (they DON'T necessarily have to join squads---I've seen a mob of squad-less players link together intuitively and reinforce each other's objectives in matches). These are the moste enjoyable FW sessions.
MIC use can be REALLY useful in FW, and many of us who gave up on MIC in Pubs aren't realizing how helpful you can be to new players by giving some UN-obnocscious advice during the Warbarge Lobby stage (drown out that danged woman selling Aurum), and telling everyone you will try to call out which next objective you think we should rally on as you see the match progressing.
Sadly, the players on your team will show signs of being DIRT POOR at coop work----so you can assist them best by staying on the fringe of their activity, supporting them from a distance with installations to cover their efforts, and A/V to keep red vehicles from feasting on them, and hacking only on the fringe of the map (so you don't get sloughtered excessively in this match).
Study your blues behavior, and decide QUICKLY what kind of match you've been dumped into this time. It means, as a seasoned FW player, your workload has now been painfully multiplied, yes. It means very often YOU are one of the only players on your team who can effectively turn this match into a WIN---and doing so will require all the resourcefulness, speed and sweat you've got. It also means that when you WIN, those goofy blues will never know WHY they won this match---never know that they owe their LP and rank increase to just 2 or 3 of tenacious players.
But I have walked away from some matches, winning the match solely because I hacked the first Null, quickly saw that my fellow blues were aimlessly scattering like mice being annihalated with no chance of being useful in the match,... and just decided NOT to go help them, just hunker down beside this one Null and KEEP IT OURS no matter what! A couple of random blues decided to loiter nearby me. The reds (really skilled reds) got punched in the face so hard when they tied to approach the Null, that they got OBSCESSED with trying to claim 3 lives and 1 worthless Null,... and left the other half of the map open for blues to hack and win. Son of a Gun!
Don't be ashamed to be selfish in FW's. If you can see that your usual frontline enthusiasm won't help the blues you're stuck with in THIS match, back off and give them the best REAR support or FRINGE-MAP help you can. I know it sounds bad to say it, but part of Dust is about good, non-wasteful management of your resources. I will never "leave a match" that I can see is "doomed", and I never "squat" in the rear and betray everyone else's efforts,... but I'm not going through that door with you, where 3 reds are waiting inside, if I know that (after you see me sacrifice myself on 2 of the reds to buy you the chance to finish off the last one)... you're going to run aimlessly away instead.
Universe of good wishes for the 49, especially CCP Eterne...

I just don't have the patience to wait around. Hell I flip them all on but end up joining a pub match because I'll be sitting there for 5 minutes with no match. It's not worth it, I'd rather grind isk and screw around in pubs then wait ages to join one game where I come in half way and am going to lose so yeaahh 200ish LP? Why I can buy a standard dropsuit with that!!!! I can do nothing in a pub and be able to buy more gear then with the LP winnings. Sure I can get lower req gear but without the skills I'd have for proto level its not really worth it. Just marginally better than my adv gear if I slap on proto gear that takes me 3-4 matches to earn enough LP for one fit that will get forge gunned or run over when I use it lol. |

Mu is a team balancer / sorter. When you queue for a pub matches it grabs all the players for a match and then sorts them onto different sides in attempt to get relatively equal 'mu' values. This does not work for faction warfare because you have already chosen which side you want to play for.
1)Faction warfare does not have any balancing checks 2)Faction warfare prefers to grab squads to unsquadded people 3)Faction warfare will grab whoever is in the queue first to make a match (except where this interacts with #2) 4)Mu doesn't apply to faction warfare as it's really more of a team balance sorter than a 'match-maker'
