Frequently, inertial dampeners don't engage when falling from a height where the fall is long enough to cause death. Resolution: Allow inertial dampeners to be engaged from any drop distance.

I frequently fly the dropship and exit in open areas, near obstacles, mid flight and there is no rhyme or reason as to where you will come out of the vehicle. It is undependable, so plan accordingly. This is a gay feature.
