But of course, other incentives would work better with other types of capsuleers. A boost to standings could go a long way, grinding standing is pretty awful. Maybe loyalty points. These kind of rewards would make some of them look only for combat...

Yesterday I managed to get out of a fight with 0 shields and 0 armor. Seems like if you are left with exactly 0 armor you still have to take at least one point more of damage to actually die.
