I think a scout should be able to use an HMG as long as there is a massive speed penalty. Why? the whole point of the heavy drop suit is that it is the only one physical capable of using a HMG, if you give a scout a drop-suit it would be the most literal example of "glass canon" that ever existed. |

So your points what.. If a merc wants to be the ultimate glass cannon I'll happily stand 60ft away and laugh while I shred him with my AR. This game was "sold" on a promise of customise how you want to. Edit: yeah I like the idea above with recoil etc disadvantages. It should be extremely difficult to do but if some crazy guy wants to do it why not. PLUS how funny would it be to see a scout trying to control an HMG like a child with a fire hose
Yes it was but the HMG is designed for the heavy to use, the only reason that heavy's can use it effectively is that they have the armour to get into range and the strength to carry it and control the recoil. Remember the heavy dropsuit sacrifices a lot to give people the ability to have that firepower, heavy's are meant to be mobile strongpoints that force the enemy team to adjust their tactics to deal with it, logistics are meant to support their team mates and keep them in the fight, not be the leading edge of the advance, and assault suits are meant to be the mainstay of any engagement, being adaptable and able to do a little of everything but not specialising in any one thing to the exclusion of all others.

Again why? your asking ccp to put time and effort in to letting people equip a weapon that their suit is physically incapable of supporting, makes no sense, and apart from a couple of people who use the reasoning "do it for the LULZ!!!!!!!" will never be used. Please tell me if you were a game developer would you go against a concious design decision which makes sense and follows the physics of the game's universe, to allow a very small minority of your audience to go "hey look at me I'm a a scout running around with a HMG, aren't I hilarious"?
You are asking for a feature that makes no sense and has absolutely no place in this game so unless you have a suggestion that makes sense and would benefit this game, would you please refrain from posting. |
