Ok I read everything and I still completely disagree. They definitely should NOT pay for mere attendance. Your boss doesn't pay you simply for "showing up" to work, he pays you for showing up and doing specified tasks which are deemed necessary. The simple fact of showing up to FW and drooling over yourself should not merit rewards.

Your "simple logic" is something CCP has worked to avoid, and I think it's perfectly fair to not be rewarded for not succeeding. This isn't your third grade baseball team where every idiot is awarded a trophy for simply playing on the team. So my advice stands:

1. Calm down. Take a nap.
2. Find some good players to squad with.
3. Join FW and coordinate your victory. No that doesn't mean sitting on a redline mountain in a railtank with a Thale's (which I've seen you do).

So basically, they have tried to add a squad finder to balance the matchmaking, even tho the same squads from 1.4 that were pubstomping are still against the same people, except now those poor sods that don't have 20+million SP can be in a squad of loosers. Your new event should be this simple. Fight 20 FW battle recieve teir 1 rewards, fight 30 FW battle recieve tier 2 rewards, fight 40 recieve teir 3 rewards. I just joind a match, with 2 full squads on 1 side, and on the other 4 players from NPC corps, your ** matchmaking system saw absolutely no problem with it aparantley. So just like the last event, proto stompers get some goodies, newer players get ** all. For the love of god, please put these events up for a real discussion before sticking them in the game, your event planners are terrible, good concepts, poor design awful awful end product.

They had maybe 2 NPC guys. Good thing a few of them weren't using officer weapons or else that really would have been overkill. Oh wait... Short story long we got cloned within a few minutes. Unfortunately the stomping will persist. The only thing you can do is attempt to Q sync with other squads. Stuff happens.

They should just make it that you have to win 20 matches (or whatever the % equates to) for your chosen faction and/or play the required number. So if you don't make the %WL by the cutoff, you can still keep trying to hit that magic win number.

No way I'd ever hit one of the contest goal ratios but I don't care. The idea that everyone wins something has no appeal to me. Having said that, the lopsided nature of this game can't be helping it any. I've been steadily recovering from the SP mis-allocation hole my kids have put me into but I'll still get into matches where I die after putting half a clip into someone when they just turn and look at me. No arguing that it is better play on the other's behalf. I was in a match last night where 3 guys in the open took out 5 or 6 other guys on higher ground with cover and spread out in about 6 seconds. I'm sure it was fun for them.

I was glad to see them there. Though you have to admit. We need to break out of this broken FW contracts system (unless CCP tells me otherwise I can only assume that's the case).

If the reward was given for simply being in say, twenty FW battles, then any no lifer with a rubber band could simply AFK and earn the rewards which would cause us dedicated people actually playing the game to cry foul. CCP gave us a REASON to win FW matches - expensive gear as rewards. If you're upset that you have to WORK for your reward, then you're better off playing some casual game like cooking mama on the Wii.
