TL;DR: Add more districts to fight on in PC.
CCP, I posted a thread here about making the initial aspect of PC better. Now PC need some more districts to capture.
In recent times, EoN. has capture the majority of the districts in Molden Heath (at least of the ones available) A VAST majority. It now seems like a place of lockdown and anyone that does anything that EoN. doesn't like, you'll have TeamPlayers knocking on your door with 350 clones. Not fun.
Along with the things a posted in the thread that I have linked, PC needs more districts. Right now the only way you can be in PC is to take a district in this ALREADY cramp Molden Heath, and hope and pray that you haven't pissed someone off in the process. All you're trying to do is make money in your own separate district. Then BOOM, you can't because somebody wants that district that's next to theirs. You either have to have an alliance or have an agreement for someone not to attack you. Of course you can buy a district off of someone only to be attacked by that same person. Truth is there really isn't enough space.
Not to mention that there really isn't a reason to be in PC in the first place. (See earlier thread).
An example of there not being enough space:
The recent events of Murder Cakes of Doom. Now I know all of the "Top" men are gonna be all pissy about what I'm about to say, but hold of your tears for just a moment. Murder Cakes of Doom 'was' a corporation of about 6 people. All MCoD wanted to do was have some fun in PC, take a couple of districts, make money, so-on. With 6 members, of course they had to use ringers. But no, "Ringers" are frowned upon by the tyrants known as EoN. So, they were sent a pleasant surprise of 350 clones on their district by TeamPlayers. How were they able to get 350 clones on MCoD? Because they have the a lot of districts that are bunched together. They had money, they had districts, so it wasn't very hard to transport those clones because all of the districts aren't that far apart. If there were more districts that were far apart from each other, maybe some people could have fun in PC in their own little place. Fighting battles against just more than one corporation.
Now, I know that some 'Welcome to New Eden'ers are coming, so before you say that answer this.
Is New Eden really secluded to own constellation (or Galaxy. Whatever you call Molden Heath)?
In EVE there are many ways to make isk. A person can make money without killing a single person. A person can get rich in a day. EVEer really can do what they please to make isk. In Dust, the only way to really experience New Eden is through PC. and if PC is as small and overrun like this, only a small minority can actually experience it. For a game that should be IN New Eden, it doesn't give many players that New Eden experience. In Dust, you have to get in a corporation, your corporation has to participate in PC, fight people, get kicked out of PC. There really isn't an experience of New Eden's her in Dust.
With more districts, more corporations can compete in PC, you won't have overlords controlling one place (A Corp/Alliance can't hold three or four constellations). And overall better PC. You'll have more alliances in a bigger place. Maybe have four alliance in four different regions?.?

It really wouldn't be that hard if you think about it. Just maps of arid planets, jungle planets, arctic, some urban areas, and a few variants of each, and go from there. I mean, I'm sure it would take some work, but if it worked kind of like Mass Effect, it could be done.
If only...
It would be amazing to fight on the arctic. |

I feel like giving more people the opportunity to fight will balance out the PC better than adding more clones... |

Oso Peresoso wrote:one way to balance more districts is to lower the price per clone and the payout per clone. Certainly one of the primary concerns of adding more districts is isk inflation. However, I would think isk inflation would be a current goal for the Dust economy, but it doesn't help if all that isk is concentrated in the hands of one alliance.
More districts with each district and clone worth less lowers the bar for corps to enter PC (both because clone packs would be cheaper and there will be increased pressure on the top PC alliances because they could have too much territory to defend). When the big corps go to war, it should be cost effective to hand out free clone packs to other corps in order to have them attack their rival's. This means more battles for more people with a wider range of skill (and gear level).
Makes sense. +1
Then bigger alliances that have money won't just be able to send out barrages of clones without consequence |
