Good morning cowards,
I just thought I'd let you know that eventually, maybe it wont even be until next year in the patch after uprising, there will be deployable shields. They will keep you from spamming your little rounds at us, and will make you more worthless than you already are.
Grow a pair and spec into some other real infantry weapon. Learn the game now. Join us here on the ground.

Just realized too, that these will be the perfect troll tool to use against your own team's blue-dot snipers.
Open logi suit: 1) Equip 4 different shield with 2 deployable shields each. 2) Ride to "Four Sniper Hill" 3) Surround hilltop in shields to keep snipers from firing out. |

I could care less about them being on the other team. As a logi bro I hate when they are on my team getting 4/0 in a match. because that's fewer people on the front lines that are pushing for objectives, and that I can't get points from. |

Well, I'll tell you what, I will let you kill me a couple times in our next match together and then you can brag to your loser buddies about how you got 20 kills in one match. Ok bye now.
I don't know why I'm defending myself, but I really don't care too much when I die to snipers. I'm 10x more frustrated by the blue-dots that that is how you play the game. That and I'm just preparing you all so you don't whine when these things come in. My guess right now is that 1 of every 2 new players specs into sniper.
My point is that when these come in they/you will all whine and want to range quit. This is not QQ. It is more like a pre-anti-QQ. |

Shouldn't you be spending more time on the range? Definitely sounds like you took a few to the rear though.
Thanks man, I fixed the spelling. But look at my other posts. I really like this game, I rarely QQ, and I write a lot of stuff that is trying to help educate the community, bring mechanics to light that a lot of people don't know about, and am trying to show people that this game can be a lot more dynamic than it has been lately. |

I would say it another way as, keeping my team between me and the enemy. Which, when you have an active scanner, is pretty easy. |

I see a whole bunch of you vanilla lowest common denominator types down there trying to hack stuff. You usually fail. Staying back as a sniper is not cowardice. It's how a sniper does his job. Look up the art of sniping on the internet. Deployable shields sounds like a quick fix CCP is giving you whiners down below.
If I'm hacking, and snipers don't have my back, part of me really wants to say that you aren't doing your job. I just don't see how you all think that you are that effective when there are 4 of you doing a awfully terrible job and stealing eachothers kills sitting on a hill that only lets you see like one and a half of the least popular objectives on a map.
Also, as an Amarr Logibro it's really hard for that namecalling to stick to me. |

I wouldn't be against that, but I'm talking about lasers here. I'm surprised that there are no laser sniper rifles mentioned yet, especially when Gallente weapons are close range and lasers are mid/long range. |

How would AR users/ snipers feel if they took the TAC-AR out of the AR skill tree, and put it into the 'Sniper rifle' tree?
I think they should call the current AR tree the "Plasma Carbine" Tree and the the current sniper rifle tree the "Plasma Rifle" Tree, and it would include TAC Rifles, TAC Snipers, and Regular Snipers. Then they could put laser rifles, and sniper lasers in the same tree. |

It's just kinda sad that they gave so much versitility in the AR tree and now people will feel like they are taking away their weapons. |

See this is why CCP F***ed up. You guys don't understand... The AR IS the Gallente racial rifle weapon, but should have the shortest range of all the rifles. Each racial rifle will try and clone the others, but supposedly will do a sucky job at it. I don't know why the TAC-AR can conceivably shoot longer than the scrambler rifle.
AR users just aren't carrying around the TAC-AR anymore, so it doesn't really put heat on me as a mid-range MD/scrambler rifle user, but when the TACs do reach out and touch me, I feel violated. Eventually there will be weapons that do that, but those shouldn't be able to compete with the plasma ARs. |

I'm surprised that there are no laser sniper rifles mentioned yet, especially when Gallente weapons are close range and lasers are mid/long range. I wouldn't expect it any time soon. Mid-long range is the range of laser rifles. Caldari and minmatar are the most obvious choices for sniper rifles, because they have the longest range in eve.
Then A) why do we have a plasma (gallente sniper rifle right now) and B) why is the 89m limit the furthest the laser rifle can shoot? I'm really hoping it will get tweaked out to about 100m with 50% effectiveness when it gets its sight. When gallente plasma is considered short range and it gets a TAC AR that can shoot to 85m with 100% efficiency, that isn't right. |

As with anything else, you need to determine if the resources required to carry and use the drop shield is worth it over other options. I see them as having a relatively narrow scope of use, most likely for screening downed team mates for getting them up with a needle, and preventing a sniper or MD user from being able to easily cover a point. Can you link any info on how the drop shields will work? They might be useful for temporarily denying vehicles easy transit if they are GÇ£solidGÇ¥. They may be a double-edged sword if they glow like other equipment does (they might make a nice decoy for this same reason). IGÇÖm primarily a sniper, but I welcome anything that provides more combat options. I think it is rather narrow minded to denigrate anything that makes your own role marginally more difficult to fulfill, but makes the game more nuanced and fun (not that IGÇÖm making any sort of accusation as to the intent of the original or subsequent posters).
I dont think there is anything written about them. They were just mentioned here and that is the extent that anyone seems to know. |

No, we are players who see the usefulness of the role instead of criticizing it for being useless because we don't prefer it. You seem to want everybody to just run vanilla assault. I can attest that that role is just as useless if it doesn't get support. I don't know where you are anybody gets the idea that we are thinking we are badass. You and other anti-sniper players are reading into things. I'm talking usefulness with the role. A player that is not doing very well in his role is useless. That includes assaults and logis.
You were the one implying I was calling an IRL sniper a coward because of his skill thereby equating my criticism of Dust snipers as cowards with him. That was your logic.
Anywho, go to some of my other posts. I would hope that none of them can possibly stand as wanting this game to devolve into vanilla on vanilla rifle battles. Basically snipers should be very aware of other snipers. If your team already has 2, you should think VERY VERY VERY hard before setting up camp.
Also, snipers aren't bad when they aren't getting support. THEY are the support. THEY support the squad, they aren't supposed to be the primary slayers. If you are operating as if you were the foundation of your team you are doing it wrong. If you are the type of player that really doesn't care about the squad/team aspect of this game, then this conversation really isn't for you. Your mind wont change. |
