Just a thought. Heavies are supposed to be able to stand up to vehicles toe to toe.
Why not allow heavies to hold down the melee button and if they are facing an oncoming LAV, toss it over rather than dying like chump? Power armor should have some advantages after all.
This solution should never be applied to HAVs. Or anything bigger than a jeep.
but the solution to heavies should never be "MY BUMPER!" |

Anything would be good:
- double kill: both die on impact, heavy and LAV
- LAV takes heavy damage on impact vs heavy
- LAV stops when impact vs heavy |

Your Heavy is heavy... but its mass is STILL nowhere near that of an LAV.
The LAV isn't some flimsy little jeep or buggy.
The mass is much greater than that of your heavy.
Allow damage to the LAV on impact, but the LAV will always win.
LAV= Hammer
Heavy= Apple
Every other Dropsuit= Grapes
Now get to smashing. |

I'm not talking about stopping it. I'm talking about using the fatsuit to speedbump the LAV onto it's side. not smash it or stop it. kinda like hitting a bump wrong. Heavy should take damage, but they should be a threat. even to the bumper. |

Okay I give it to you that they are not as heavy buy when car collides with cow what happens? Car gets ****** up, cow dies.
LAV takes heavy damage.
But what If this cow was armoured in the heaviest and what we can only assume us the strongest armour and shields designed for infantry? A heavy which I believe in the lore actually states in it lore that it spreads any form of impact damage over a larger area. Even if a LAV were to hit a heavy it would take incredible amounts of damage as and Im sure CCP and lore will back me up on this....
LAV aren't designed with the purpose of running people over.
If a LAV collides with a heavy I would imagine shield would be utterly depleted and armour would buckle under the impact, now if the heavy suit were to be redesigned to with armour stasis module to harder armour upon impact it would essentially or possible even become like a container, which when an LAV collides with it the LAV takes damage.

I have to agree, I don't play a heavy, but this concept of a LaV taking no damage from something like a heavy suit seems odd. A change would even start to dull down the aspects of a murder taxi and start to direct LaVs into their original purpose. |

What I don't understand is that I've hit some heavies in my LAV and stopped cold, pirouetting on the nose of the vehicle next to them. Other heavies are like wheat that bends in the wind and stays down. It's random.
I think it would be good for the game to make heavies do damage to LAV's when they're hit. This would give the heavies in your squad a unique ability to deter LAV's. |

Interesting anology. However, if you were to swing a hammer at an apple and not hit the apple dead on, would merely hit the side of the apple, take a chunk out of it and ithe apple would probably roll off a bit.
Therefore better physics are required. My original suggestion was reduced impact damage to suit and thrown in a random direction to better simulate a pedestrian impact. |
