I can get behind this thread. Though I have already begun attempting to chronicle Galm's life, it still have A LOT of writing to do. I think it would be fun if we could all discuss characters here and try to better understand were we all are coming from. Otherwise we are going to have some inconsistencies up the rear. |

True Adamance wrote:DO IT POST IT IN THE FICTIONS SECTION. Im just trying to finish off Kador's early life before I get into the all the Sansha's Nation Incursion Arc's, dealing with Blood Raiders....
all before starting on Liethe Akari's Internal security operations for the Caldari state. I would read the **** out of that!
My main issue has been deciding if I should sketch it in the first or third person. I don't plan on giving a direct series of events, so the hoping around is a bit difficult in first person. There is a lot of fluff that I am trying to avoid during his time in the Dragonaurs. |

Believe me, most of the time Adamance seems justified to me. Considering Galm's thoughts are usually horribly disconnected, changes his values near constantly, and is always between highs of delusions and disillusions I didn't hold it against True for calling him out. Most of those are signs of psychosis after all. |

Yeah but True isn't a fanatic, that's not how I want him to be. He just chooses to believe in these things and makes it his responsibility to defend the beliefs and culture of his people.... since some... cough cough... Gallente.... cough cough.... RPers don't bother to try to understand it....
I don't know why, but pretty much all Gallente roleplayers so far are: A. Ignorant fanatics of their own ideals B. Racists C. Bad roleplayers D. Blatant breachers of PF E. Some or all of the above Although I must admit that I've fallen into a few bad RP streaks too. Caldari = Master Race |

I will hand it to anyone who RPs Minmatar, you have your own cool factor just because we hardly see any Minmatar players. It is like seeing a snow leopard, or an Amarr doing any sort of hard work. |

Oh thank goodness, I was really worried about how other's reactions would be. Good to know I got it right, it is a huge confidence booster to write more!
And trust me, when you do finally getting around to writing a story, I would love to read it. |

In my mind, before you ever want to make a decent story (and I hate to be the one to say it) you really need to do some background reading before you start up. You don't need to know the WHOLE lore, but enough to make a certain amount of references and connections that will add value and merit to your writing. As an example, the whole reason I ever started RPing on the board a month ago was to bounce my character around until I had him figured out and do a little bit of a warm up to get in the mindset for writing. When I first came here, I am not going to lie, I knew very little about lore. Now however I like to think I have a strong enough grasp to be fiction literate.
I REALLY recommend reading at least a little bit of lore. The more you know, the better you are.
That being said YAY! I HAVE STUFF TO READ TONIGHT FROM YOU GUYS! \o/ |

Oh god I had to put one last layer of polish on my story. That is what I get for not having an editor. |

I've been reading a lot of the fanfiction on this site, and I gotta say, you are all really good! It is an honor to share a fandom with you all.
Oh, and I made another minor edit to my story and character, seeing as I can still get away with it. Galm is actually younger than he appears (19-ish.) I figured it would be cool to play with the concept of a fully mature cloned body suddenly being pressed on a teenager. (Might explain his attitude aswell... Which I have to admit might be a bit of myself.) |

Think over it again, I have to admit I am mostly making this up as I go along, and forget my last post. Factoring in my story, his age should be just about right. |

I'm interested to see your backstory and how your wrote out the whole turning your back on the Blood Raiders. That will be an interesting little bit of lore. I can't imagine why you would want to leave the Blood Raiders. The more I read about them, the more I like their style. |

This raises a new question, what do the geeks of New Eden do? Is there, like, gaming and an intergalactic Magic the Gathering competition every year? |

There's a game called Mind Clash, it has a huge following, sets up huge tournaments and its top players are like rockstars. You could say its like Starcraft or Magic the Gathering, it has some video game feel to it with the neural interfacing thing. Other than that, I don't know about any other things that could be considered "geeky" at least not from CCP. You could always come up with your own games though, I'd imagine the Gallente having something since they're the best people when it comes to entertainment and technology. Caldari pop culture must be something else though, considering their massive entertainment industry. I know one guy on the OOC forums mentioned the possibility of "A-pop" for Achurians.
