Tank Rail fire v. Dropships is fine as is.
There needs to be some work done about Forge Gun fire v. Dropship.
There are two easy roads here.
Buff the Dropship (but I don't want to be god mode, I NEED to be counterable to keep the game fun for those on the ground)
or
Make the Forge Gun have damage drop off over range (but I need to still be able to snipe ANYONE within vision over 300 meters! Also, it will become too weak versus tanks to be effective.)
Its a delicate thing this, and as a veteran pilot who dominates the skies (when proto forges aren't around or are sufficiently suppressed) our counters NEED to be there. In pub matches with insufficient AV... my gunner can net easily over 30+ kills.
Swarms are nicely balanced v. Dropships. They hit hard enough to have to take notice. They give you a chance to react. They can't one shot you, even at proto level, if you have a good build.
Hmmm....
CCP, do you play your game?
you do make a good point, by buffing the dropship to take shots from forge guns with a simple hp buff, then the swarms that are already balanced against them, will feel under-powered against them, and if you nerf the range on the FG, then that would feel UP. perhaps give dropships a resistance to rail-gun-like shots |

Spademan wrote:Hey, if I look like I'm beckoning you to pick me up, could you actually, y'know, pick me up? Having a gunner isn't so bad and I want to get to a place.
I do try to pick up people who generally want a lift to the objective, what I do is prevent them from shooting anything, forcing them to jump out on the contested area, and take it over in my name! |

Having a gunner isn't so bad and I want to get to a place. I'd advise taking a few shots at them with your sidearm. That's how I know people want a lift. Then again, sometimes we really don't want any passengers for one reason or another, especially blueberries. Reasons could include:
- I'm in a rush and don't have time to wait
- If I'm hurt badly and need to recall the vehicle, passengers frequently won't get out, which prevents me from sending it back (*cough*ADDAKICKBUTTON*cough*)
- My door gunners frequently shoot the side of my ship, screwing up the shot I'm currently lining up
- I pack some rocking militia heat on my side turrets (which saves me ~300K/ship), so you probably would be better on the ground with your Duvolle
U cant really blame us for shooting your ship, because their is that F****** snap back on the turret
I do know how bad the door gunners have it, I tend to run blasters in my team ship, easier for the gunners to get the kills, and I deal with vehicles/installations with my own missile launcher. but I do not tend to let blues in it without a mic, that way, I can communicate with them. |

tag teamed an incubus with a random's python and my own, he retailiated with another oh his ships,, and manages to take the random down with him. the fights are fun, and sometimes take a long time to finish, as you can fly away in a heart beat. sometimes these fights are more intense than tankers |

I can remember fighting an incubus, getting his shield down and his armor halfway gone, and he goes into a dive from max height ceiling, and I follow him downwards, still hitting his ass with my XT Accelerated missiles, and as we're tearing through the side of a mountain, and just crossing his team's red line, (trying to run behind the red-line to hide and regen HP), i land the last hit that takes his armor off, and even though he begins to re-gen, we were flying so close to the mountain, that slight decrease in altitude caused him to collide into it and blow up instantly, giving me the kill... Best fight evar.
In all of my dog-fighting, I have only lost one, it was my first dogfight, he had me with the afterburner to stay above me, and he also had better aim, and the better guns, since then, my battles have been absolutely thrilling. I have yet to come across you, but I am patiently waiting for a good fight |
