My suggestion for upping how many weapons there are in the game and being able to try new levels of weaponry and varations is by giving all Aurum weapons and vehicles a ISK price, the ISK price would be 2-3x as expensive as per normal ISK levels, this would also be based on the meta levels of the items that are in question. Such as a Advanced piece of gear normally priced at around 10k, would instead be 30k, for a higher lvl item, that would normally be 40k this now turns into 120k for one item, this naturally would be a money sink if you did this for more then a few items, but it would allow you to see how higher weapons function before you skill into them for a reasonable price and to see how you like the Aurum gear. This could be done as an extension of Aurum, such as 40 Aurum becomes 400,000 ISK, this would be simply saying that each Aurum is worth one hundread thousand isk. I also suggest that all BPO gear be buyable by isk in the per unit cost, this would not give unlimited but it would be a way to see if you really liked the vehicle or weapons and how you would slot them into your dropsuit or vehicle, it would also again give another vehicle or weapon into the game. I would suggest doing the pricing similar to what I have listed before about the Aurum whichever method might be addopted. What my suggestions would allow for in the game would be as follows for benefits to all.
-Weapons and Vehicle types available for purchase and use nearly double or triple. -Weapons such as laser would now have the ability to be used on all the different levels. -Previews of weaponry and vehicles to entice players to buy the packs to have a permenant supply. -Gives players a way to spend money they would otherwise be hoarding. -Would help solve the protostomping by allowing those who don't have the big boy skills yet to purchase more advanced gear to fight back. -Makes the market more realistic in that everything has a price. -Will help with getting players away from the AR if they could see the benefits of other weapons they might not have skilled into.
Please comment and suggest, I hope this or something similar gets implimented in order to give vets and newbies more purchasing power with isk and more weapons to play around with so they do not get so bored and we might be able to get away from the AR as being the primary in every match. |

1. The point of paying Aurum is to not pay the excessive cost that isk would be hitting you with, this could also be seen as supporting the developers by buying packs or paying with Aurum.
2. I believe the sales of Aurum and packages would actually increase, since the people would have a sample of what they could have if they actually paid more money into the game.
3. Are you serious? You get to play with all the big boy toys before you have skilled up into them by either paying with isk or by paying with Aurum the choice is yours. Vets have been dying to try out a lot of the toys that they just can't with on the free path or they are waiting for good sales, this would incentivse them to buy into the game more through competition and the fact that you could fight back against a proto suit if you buy the isk version of it for the new players. |

This isn't denying the developers isk, this is similar to if you go to a grocery store and you get a free sample of some cake or some ice cream or bread with cheese or anything else. You don't go away from the table laughing and saying how much you ripped them off and boy what suckers they were for giving you that sample spoon. This is simply opening up their markets more and making them more accessible to people, because if you're someone who has never bought Aurum and feels like you're never going to, that's fine, but I'm sure you're going to complain anyways about weapon selection and all. My suggestion is just a proven tactic that many stores and retailers and other video games have used to incentivise people into purchasing more and supporting the game more. |

Okay...so you're saying something that isn't even exsistance yet is going to be messed up because of this....alright not going to point out a few things about that...but I will just continue with, well we could impliment this system till the market of Dust actually is merged with Eve, which could be over 6 months away at least. Simply we are in a static economy right now in Dust and that is what I am working with, when and if the market ever merges with Eve then that can be brought up as a concern and this system can be done away with, but till that time, I feel this is a valid and good suggestion. |

So let me get this straight...we should keep at a lackluster amount of weaponry and gear, for possily six months or more, just on the chance that CCP does as they say they will? When this change could be put in as a hotfix until that time, in order to double nearly triple the amount of equipment they have useable in the game. Considering the game is already having a massive drop in player base and people are flat out quiting or saying they will come back later, along with planetside 2 being right there nipping at the heels of Dust every day.
I'm seeing a rather flawed view from you as well, considering if the Dust team does not expand itself for people it will be just a game that is forgotten and becomes Dust in the playstation store that no one bothers with. This type of marketing can and does work, Tribes Ascend did the very same marketing and strategy, as is being suggested here, unfortunetly it said the game was complete before it really was, and denied the players more maps and options to do with the game. They also went along with the esports stuff instead of sticking to what the player base really wanted and did something really stuipid against their EULA.
I'm not saying this is an end all fix, that it's going to be this way forever, what I am saying is that until the player market is established and better wars to trade with fellow Dust players this would give players new options for being able to play the game, and advertising their content at the same time, such as you could keep paying a really hefty cost for that vehicle each time or you could buy the pack. I also think that Eve should be making several more packs and asking player input of what they would actually like to see in the packs.
This is similar to the passive booster, in that you can just wait on the freebie way, you can just let your sp tick up really slow, however, if you want you can pay to get a speed boost on that SP, are you going to start complaining that the passive SP is there? I'm sure you've been a lot more tempted at times to just buy the passive SP because it is there and they give you a sample of what it could be.
Also, for a game, no matter what you do, someone is going to complain that it's not fair one way or the other, such as the debate about each and every weapon with people saying nearly every weapon is OP, that it's to good, that it's to easy, that the range is out of whack, that you can just adapt or die, that you can add damage mods or whatever else. If you also looked at the price suggestions, these items would all cost a lot, a single higher level weapon could cost you an entire match or several match worth(s) of isk, a tank could cost 3mill or more before it is even equiped with a single item if it's not already fully loaded. If the producer wanted they could even just sell the empty shells of the vehciles and in another window just show all the cool stuff you could have on it if you paid with real cash.
The possibilities for a system like this are very high and other games have implimented them quite well, also notice I did not ask for Passive or Active boosters to be on sale for isk, this is not giving away everything for free, this is just giving you the option to look at something, people complain currently about loosing a 100-200k worth suit, imagine if they lost 1-1.5mil on just one suit that they were trying out with the gear they normally don't use, I doubt they would be whiping that out every time they felt like playing. Players who would want to do this constantly would have to pay real money into the game or buy packs.
The consequences have been thought out, but the consequences of doing nothing might be a lot worse for Dust and Eve, as people get bored with lack of weapons and gear to use. People could understand that this system is just till the player market is established along with trade to Eve. |
