I'm making this thread in the hope that it shows CCP / Anti-AFK'ers the multitude of reasons behind AFK'ing. Please do not view it as people trying to justify or explain themselves. If you AFK, you AFK. I do it, and I know there's others that do it too. This thread is not to "CALL OUT AFKERS FOR RUINING THE GAME", just to show everyone why it is that we do what we do.
Post why you AFK in this thread. I'll start off with my own reasons.
The game has gotten stale and punishes you for not playing.
If you don't like it, why do you care about SP then?
I do like it. This is a great game, with tons of potential. That potential is what makes me want to hoard SP for when the new content comes out. MAV's, racial suits, jets, Eve / Dust integration... There's tons of places that this game is going to improve on that I won't be able to enjoy if I don't collect SP.
So why not play the game then?
Because, in its current state, it's boring. Pub matches are endless cycles of pubstomps and FW is a glorified pub match. PC is a bit better, but still uses the same maps and game modes. I guess you could say I burnt myself out, however if I leave, I miss out on tons of SP that I could've gained for extremely little effort, which brings us back to point one.
TL;DR - Post why you AFK. I do it because I see that the game will improve, but the SP system is too punishing for me to leave until it happens.
EDIT: I should also add that this is not a gripe thread. Please make your own threads for those topics. I'm only looking to put on display why people AFK for everyone to see. |

I would again ask that if you do not AFK yourself, please refrain from posting in here. I'm trying to put on display a list of reasons why people AFK so that people can see what might be wrong with the game and can then look for solutions. |
