I was measuring my shield delay after adding regulators and noticed that the depleted shield delay for many suits is much longer than what is advertised.
At first I thought this was a problem with the regulators not taking effect but after more testing I discovered that the depleted shield delay itself is extremely long for the Cal Logi suit (I tested both ADV and PRO), the Dren Logistics Suit, the Gal Logi ADV suit, and the Dren Sentinel. The logi suits were clocking in at around 14 seconds after full depletion using a self-flux, and the Sentinel suit was a whopping 17 seconds to recharge after fluxing.
I also tested the Cal Logi ADV suit by jumping out of the MCC without dampeners to deplete my shields fully, and sure enough, it took 14 seconds for it to begin to regen.
I'm not sure if the extra delay is due to self damage through falling/flux as I can't test enemy damage yet. I'll try to get a buddy to sync with me in Oceania for testing.
Either way this represents a significant nerf to shield tankers. CCP, please look into this ASAP.
The non-depleted shield delays seem to be working as intended (with the exception of Cal Logi listed as 6s when it should be 5s per the devblog). |

Correction; it seems as though the long delay will activate whenever something completely removes your shields in one hit (i.e. grenade blast, sniper shot, etc.). |

Maybe it is counting both recharge and depleted? I noticed at one point, one of the suits had a lower depleted time than recharge time, I thought it was strange that it would take less time for shields to come bace if they were completely gone than if only damaged.
In your testing, throw a regen instead of a regulator and see if it makes a difference |

You are correct. I sent a ticket about it and the answer was that after shields are fully depleted, the wait to recharge is equal to the depleted time + the regular delay time. Was I the only one mislead by that description? Would be nice if CCP had something written out that explained how all their mechanics worked. |
