My fellow dusters and dustettes, I do realize of course that there are many posts like this one. But this one is mine. Because I feel as though there needs to be as many voices in this as possible. I myself am a vehicle driver. I use all of them. For what? Well, my tanks are for attacking, my dropships can do that too, or transport, and I use LAVs... as transport. For their intended purpose. See the turret on top? That is the weapon of an LAV not the bumper. This is quite ridiculous. I just gout of a match in which the top enemy player was 23/0 because all he did was run about in an LAV. This has to stop. Now before you get the impression that this is a rage post, I can tell you that it is not. The lack of foul language and caps should evidence this. Know that I was not once ran over by this fiend, who, rather than using any true skill, decided to drive around instead of really playing the game. No, this is not rage. This is a simple fact: murder taxis must die. I don't care if CCP has to temporarily remove LAVs from the game or if all LAVs get a severe nerf to armor/shields. The best thing to do would be to simply remove the damage dealt by a bumper. True, it may not be realistic, but we must remember that this is a game. It is meant for entertaining the masses. This wonton road-rage is going to drive people away from the game. Yes, there is AV equipment available, but not everyone has it and some teams may be completely devoid of any good AV players. A guy like me, with my Wyrkomi Breach FG and AV 'nades, can usually make mincemeat of the wayward driver, but players shouldn't be forced into skills they don't necessarily want. Pyrex makes some wonderful points on nearly all aspects of this game, including LAVs and the idea of being forced to make skill choices. His commentary should be written down as the Dust 514 Bible and handed to CCP.
In summary, LAVs need to be fixed in some way to ensure that they are used for their intended purpose, or move the skill to the Weaponry section. I won't say all that I want to say addressing murder cab drivers, but my parting statement is that you should feel ashamed for your lack of respect for other gamers yourself. If you get off on running over people, go play GTA. Your enjoyment is not worth the cost of the enjoyment of others. If you have any dignity whatsoever, skill into AR and have the common courtesy to shoot someone in the head.
That is all. Let the awful arguments and sparse constructive debates ensue. |

Transport is nice, yes, but that gets into the dropship's bread and butter.
I think I'm at the point where I advocate removing collision damage entirely. Would be cool to putt an armor ring around the LAV turrent to cover the lower 50% (75% in rear, maybe... think something less than a HMMWV .50 cal turret IRL to make it more effective as a highly mobile small turret platform. |

***OH!!!!**** And the crazy, ass-backwards moon-bounce physics of the ******* LAV needs to be un-******. The goddamned thing can roll over eight times without taking damage but it nudges me and my 500+ HP and I crumble? The bouncy bouncy holy **** bouncy mechanics also makes forge gunning LAVs at anything other than point blank range just an exercise in frustration. |

I am impressed by how stylish this post is, despite complaining about something it's intelligent and amusing. +1, sir. |
