Faction Warfare is fun - when you have EVE orbital support.
Orbitals actually MEAN something when you know you have support sitting in orbit. There's a real rush trying to obtain the points and once the magic number is hit, there is real excitement among the squad. When you have a friendly blue square in the sky you play in a totally different way and it doesn't feel like a grind or chore....you actually feel as if you have something to work together towards.
As an added bonus, for those who have never seen an EVE OB, they react in some hilarious ways. The reds honestly just froze up and were like "DA FUQ?" as (for them) a red square suddenly appeared in the sky and rained hybrid strikes down on them. I can just imagine the confusion as they read "Hybrid S Tactical Strike" in the kill feed instead of "Precision Strike."
Seriously, if you want to spice up FW get some EVE support....it makes DUST and FW way more exciting and actually fun (man the laughs we had.....priceless).
I can't wait for the link between EVE and DUST to be strengthened and more apparent in the future. |

I don't see any fun in these. This is the land of pubstomp where whole squads of top corps queue at the same time vs a bunch of randoms.

Factional warfare is the only game-mode I do where I don't care about losing money. All my instant-battle fits are militia-standard only, aside from the sniper which doesn't die often enough for it to matter.
In FW, you might see me bring out my madrugar, prometheus, maybe even incubus. |

I also feel that added sense of urgency in FW. It's the EVE link (Or potential for a meaningful EVE link) that really seperates this game fom the herd. The hard fought FW matches I've played with EVE support in orbit have felt far more maningful than PC feels, in my experience. But, then again, I've never been particularly interested in owning a planet as a merc- seems those interested in that side of New Eden should really be playing EVE in the first place, no?
I can say from personal experience though, it is insanely difficult to sync up Dusters and Capsuleers into FW fights with one-another. The distances involved EVE side can be immense and unpredictable and the battles are often only available for a few moments before they're completely full. Hopefully once CCP is satisied with the updates they've made to the core engine for a bit, we can begin seeing more of a content focus in updates. IMHO, content updates like better EVE interaction and incentive, PVE, and even things like a Corp Commons are going to go just as far as more racial varients of equipment in recharging the player base with enthusiasm.
CCP doesn't include a "Campaign" mode because New Eden is supposed to be about forging your own goals and objctives with other real players; I hope DUST catches up in this sense. |

Yeah the distances definitely vary EVE side. For some matches I was 23 jumps out, others I was only two.
The urgency really added to the game of my squad DUST side screaming in my ear they have three orbitals and me screaming back I'm still 6 jumps out...really ups the adrenaline factor of DUST. |

Dropping the Bombs are also very entertaining as well. I have a couple of fits that can throw down all three bombardments should I need them. Seeing the damage I inflict pop up and what I destroyed is also a bonus. I nailed a pair of tanks the other day.
Aisha if you still support the Empire check out PIE public you are almost guaranteed to find at least one or two other loyalists in there and plenty of pilots who might be able to drop the bomb for you. |

I'll add the channel because I'm Amarr through and through. I wish CCP sold Amarr pendants so I could wear one.

FW matches are somewhat rare battles that you can access through the mercenary tab or star map-> Faction Warfare-> Zoom in on those sword icons-> Select your preferred battle (keep in mind that you can only battle on Temperate planets) |

It's in the mercenary tab. They appear sporadically. |

Red line happens in less than 5 minutes.
