I will form my opinion on it when I can run the game at absolute Min specs with more then 8 FPS.
As Mdog said, they are both good (Or getting good) games that will each have a niche in the marketplace.
PS2-An Open world shooter, in which You want to fight over virtual land in a world where that battle only really determines the next battle.
DUST-A Lobby shooter that force you to use your lives wisely, cause you own everything you fight with. And can own what your fighting over. |

It has Good Graphics, and a fine-tuned aiming system.
Both have **** tutorials.
Both have **** matchmaking (Due to the open-world nature of PS2, you can find a vet with all the 1337 guns and attachments quite easily)
Both have promised future updates with new content.
Both have a Less then adequate PC system.
Both Have Poor Graphics on a underwhelming piece of hardware.
On the majority vote, they are quite similar.
And, we know DUST is getting Fine-Tuned aiming in the next update, along with MMing soon, and DUST has delivered on its promise for new content.
What has PS2 delivered on that promise?
SMGs?
1 new AR?
1 New LMG?
What has DUST gotten?
A new AV weapon, a new Rifle, a New Sidearm, a New variant of the Dropship, a new LAV variant (I think the LLAV is New...), a New HAV variant (The Maruaders are returning in due time), 3 new "Classes" (Dropsuit Racial Frames), New Armor Mods, New Shield Mods....
By the time the PS4 comes out, DUST and PS2 will be on equal footing, all exempt graphics, which some could overlook for a free game.
Overall, they are both good games. |

LMAO the smell of evetard fanbois grasping at completely inaccurate straws makes me giggle. I thnk i will just be laughing my ass off to the jungles of the entirely new continent that just dropped while selecting a fine piece of merchandise that was approved and added by my fellow players while i peruse the latest recruitment advertisements by the various in game outfits in game. Yup all this lack of content is sure depressing I Sense the smell of a doomsayer tard.
One Game has the power of hundred of employees to create a poorly optimized PC game, that most people couldn't have a hope in hell of running.
The other is a relatively smooth running game (Note, in Pubs) made by a subset of a company with the total man-power of 28 people.
You say New continent?
I saw why does it matter?
I won't be able to play it any way! Its hard to shoot something with 8 FPS.
And, just in case you say my Computer is old, its from '09-'10.
You would think a stock PC would be able to run a free game from 2-3 years after it was made. |

One company hasnt even figured out how aiming and moving works on an FPS and the other has. The rest of your points mean nothing when you consider that simple fact. And LOL at them being on par when PS4 comes out. Delusion runs deep on this forum. What he didn't mention in that "what has PS2" gotten is that is just a few of the smaller features of just the last 2 months. A large content drop every month with a bugfix on the tock two weeks later; all in addition to regular hotfixes and a test server. The list for dust is about 6 new items over the course of a year. And DUST has actually lost content in a lot of ways (craterlake anyone?)... Ya I dont see the point in even comparing them when Dust cant even figure out how aiming works. Yeah, I figure when you have more then 100 people working on a game, usually you can get some things working.
Except Visual Optimization.
Because, out of those over a hundred people, nobody understood the idea that free games usually need to be playable, by everybody. |

Of more visual aesthetics that cost real money to use when, they could, you know, be working of actual new stuff?
Like a new vehicle?
Wait, only one new vehicle was able to be made.
From a Company of over a hundred.
While a company of 28 was able to get 6 new things out the door.
In six months.
When was PS2 released?
2012?
So, they managed to get 3 new guns and 1 new vehicle out in the timespan of a year.
And they failed in making a game that, by design was supposed to be available to everybody, only work for a select few. |

Um the resource system puts dusts idea of a destructive economy to shame, fact is eventually people farm enough ISK in Dust/EVE that the one principle limitiing factor no longer becomes one. PS2 has a real limiting resource factor that will influence battle outcomes. Also inb4 Planetside 2 Bomberz So, just wait for a week and now you have a armor battalion?
That is a good resource system?
Not something that you actually have to play the game to get gear.
Just wait.
You'll get that tank then.
Or Airplane.
Or Medkit.
Or basically anything that is consumable, you just wait.
And there you have it! |

Have you played Planetside 2 recently? You sound like someone who doesn't know anything about the game other than a few pictures and a second-hand account. Yes I have played PS2 recently.
Then I turned it off and waited for a minute for my computer to come down, cause it just took a crap, cause it worked real hard, and only outputted 8 FPS.
8 FPS!
You complained about DUST having Bad FPS in PC, I was just Staring at a wall, and my Computer was just crying to me to turn it off. |

Blames game for having a bad PC. Facepalm. Facepalm.
You don't seem to understand the Idea behind a free Game.
Its not free for the sake of being free, but making the average joe have to go and upgrade their PC to play something Free.
Its like saying, Here's a free lollipop, but unless you have a GTX 2400000000000000, your tongue will slow down considerably, making the lollipop experience hard to enjoy.
And then saying " If you have a underpowered tongue, its not our fault for making a free game that you, the majority, are unable to eat, its your fault for not having a stronger enough tongue.
If it cost money, then I wouldn't be complaining about the fact that they suck at visual optimization, but its free!
Available to the populance free of charge!
Only we made it with the Majority not in mind, by failing to either, improve the optimization of the game, or perhaps just toning down your graphics slightly. |
