I have been playing a heavy for several months now and i have maxed out my weapons (the HMG and forge gun) and maxed out my dropsuit and armor upgrades. I still get killed fairly often in CQC simply because as a heavy i can't turn very fast so assault or scout (especially scout) suits simply run around me and pop off a shot here and there. It used to be that there was a shield tank type of dropsuit that had less of a movement penalty and was considerably more mobile. Given the many weapons now that can polish off a heavy in under 6 rounds can someone please think about the mobility of a heavy? I am not saying that heavys need to be indestructible but i think some consideration is due especially with how short range the hmg is. Forge guns are somewhat of a saving grace at least with that i can kill someone before they mow me down with AR fire.

Yea do you remember what it was like when there was a real shield heavy dropsuit? it was such a nice suit it had less armor but slightly more shields and less of a movement penalty. So you stacked up on shield extenders and had good protection and some mobility. I cant even get cover to evade mass drivers these days and dam those things have a big blast radius. |

fret not, everyone is going to be getting the same turn speed in 1.4. Since they thought everyone should strafe like a scout I figure turning speed like a scout would be the next step to equalize. Hey at least we go .4 faster than assaults while sprinting.
I am actually happy for heavies, just not going to like what this is going to do to scouts. |

Scout suits are really made for covert operations. Unfortunantly in the game there are not a great many covert roles to play. You can snipe very well on certain maps with a nice low profile / signature. You could skill into hacking very fast or you could simply try to be the eyes and ears for your squad or team painting targets of interest like tanks or maybe even attemping to place drop uplinks in places of strategic importance. Probably the most devastating role would be a sniper in a good spot. Then again there are the nova knife scouts that dont even show up on radar till after they have hit you. |

Some of the suit limitations came across as high concept ideas for a game that doesn't need them. If Heavies had some kind of forward tanking ability then it would make sense to limit mobility. If Heavies has excessive tanking period then having more options to out maneuver them would definitely be needed.

I am actually happy for heavies, just not going to like what this is going to do to scouts. CCP is aware of the Scouts issue. Although we were expecting some love for Dropships two months ago and nothing happened then. Scouts will get something tangible someday and God willing before the next game build. |

If we change heavys up we will be 100% nerfed. I put money on that. People will cry about getting shot in CQC because thats were we work best. AR should be rang and semi bad at CQC. AR are not OP but the CQC should be changed. I dont want nerfs to be passed around tho so I dont QQ about it. |

its funny when you forgun from the roof people say its OP, but when you snipe in a distant mountain somewhere its perfectly fine. people are still trying to nerf the forgun.
hey, the real problem is that ARs can burn through your suit instantaneously (literally with 425 dps, if you have 1500ehp they still kill you in one clip in under 4 seconds. the average heavy has 1000 ehp.. so you survive 2.3 seconds if its just 1 AR shooting you...lol) |

I play both scout and heavy 7 million SP scout 4 million SP heavy and both need some serious work done to them to be effective but I can't say how bad the scout is in CQC because well I play a long range sniper scout.. But I know getting shredded by and AR user in CQC in a heavy just pisses me the frack off because as so many put it...and I know from real world experience the AR (which truly stands for Armalite Riffle not Assault RIffle) is a General Purpose Weapon. Master of Nothing but can decent at everything. |

Considering that Sentinels don't get equipment, I think they should get some sort of active hardeners, meaning an unprepared heavy will go down in 4 seconds, but a prepared heavy can charge out in the open for whatever given length of time to cross a gap and shrug off the damage.
X seconds of 90% resistance gives you guys 4.26 to 7.6 seconds of life during X time frame. The concept is far from OP considering it has to be activated, so I don't see how others could try to tear the thought down. |

^^right now a miltia Ar shooting at 1 heavy can tear his health down to zero in 1.5 seconds. an active hardener that give a heavy 75% resitanc would increase his life span substantially. this could work all it needs is a balancing factor like head shots still do full damage or flux grenades can turn it off or something... |
