The goal of the game is what you make of it. There is no "endgame". There is no "direction". The game are the people, and ther interactions you have. The game is what your corp decides its goals are, and what you decide you want to do.
Welcome to the sandbox. Welcome to New Eden. |

Welcome to the sandbox. Welcome to New Eden. Thing is: Dust is no Sandbox game. Eve Online is. At the moment it is match after match for Dust. At least the FW matches have a little bit of influence.
You need imagination.
Do you think that the people in Eve use the "content" to drive their activities? No, they set their goals, and then use the "content' to meet the goals.
Yes there is limited content, but you can still use your imagination to get what you want. You can pursue a war without war mechanics. Chase them in PC; target them in pub matches over others. Open communications - set a time and place in FW to duke it out.
Make your own stories. |

I could do that with my friends and clanmates in any other game with the same effect.
It's all I got - trying to be positive for you guys. |

Why do you play if you don't like it? Mind boggling. I only play games I enjoy - I enjoy this so I play it. I like Army of Two, so I play it. I like Last of US so I play it. I don't like Unchartered, so I don't play it. I don't like WoW, so I don't play it.
Please feel free to leave the game to those who enjoy it. |

Skihids wrote:At present it's a non-persistent lobby shooter with no connection to EVE. By itself there isn't much to recommend it other than the deep skill and fitting system, and as many have noted there are a myriad of defects and issues with the game.
But it's just getting started and most consider development to still be in beta despite being officially released. My hope is that inside a couple years it will become much more than it is now.
I was personally drawn in by the promise of an integration between RTS and FPS. The RTS aspect would use squads or larger units with differing capabilities (CAS, Artillery, Infantry shock troops, AV, Scouts, etc.) to wage war at a high level and each of the units would determine their own success rather than a fixed attack value or random dice roll a in normal RTS games.
I'm sticking around and grinding mainly in the hope that I will some day see that.
I'm not sure if you are one of he people who don't enjoy it today, but if you are, what's the point of staying? Why not just come back when it's fun for you? |
