Who needs enemies? It's as if they don't know how to begin to try to do something. I was going into a couple of dominations with a suit on, rather than using a vehicle, and actually placing fairly well. Had one where I made second place using militia gear and the Core repair tool.
They can't even light up an enemy tank by simply placing their crosshair over it.
Troll thread, whatever. We all have these, but me and my regular group far more than most people.
Fact is, too many people don't have the first clue how to do anything. I too support raising the requirements to leave the Battle Academy. Make it at the very least 25,000 WP. 10,000 is far too low, and 35,000-50,000 might be best. |

Not that they don't know what to do after the Academy.
It's the fact that an Academy exists in the first place. Think. What does this 'academy' shelter newbies from? How do schools like BSOTT and Dust Uni even teach those in the academy when they're locked out due to SP/WP restraints? Creating alts over and over is tedious at best.
What the Academy shelters people from is pubstomping. Pubstomping happens because of prototype gear. Squads can be formed by newbies. Prototype gear can't.
This tier system is the flaw, not the Academy.
Increasing the WP requirement to 'graduate' will only mean more time for newbies to get complacent and used to fighting other new players; their skills will never progress to the level it has to be. |

Before launch I made a detailed post about the need for a proper tutorial. No game launches without one. There is a reason for that. |

It's been said before.
Tutorials. text, video and playable tutorials.
no-squad option. I like playing solo, I love it when it's randoms vs randoms.
We need balanced teams. Average out the WP, KD, hours played, then make a big average based on that.
New player retention is paramount to this game's success but right now they're just thrown in the deep end. |

The ONLY problem with balancing teams is friends will have a hard time playing together or it will be abused. Thought needs to be given to squad mechanics too.
Let's say I make a squad with my alt. It is a 1.5m SP player and I invite my 15.6m corp protostomper buddies into it.
Benign - I can't play with my friends, vets can't take new players under their wing at all.
Malicious- instastomp vs an inferior enemy.
wat do?

"Vets" don't like it but matchmaking should be equipment tiered. The meta levels are already in place.
It would also give a much needed goal for new players. Reaching the next battle level, with naturally higher payout risk / rewards. |

Dude, I was playing solo in Ashland skirmish, we had D side. I swear 6 from our team were sniping on the hill between D and our MCC, we were redlined. I went to D, killed the 3 guys camping it with absolutely no help from the snipers. I go up the stairs to the hacking panel, and start hacking, and guess what?...I get sniped from the back, an enemy sniper camping right next to our snipers.

I posted this elsewhere, but the simplest solution is tiered instant battles based on drop suit meta levels.
From militia battles where only militia drop suits (and vehicles) are allowed to proto battles where any drop suits and vehicles are allowed.
Lower tiered battles have lower ISK rewards, so new players can take a risk and play with the proto suits for better rewards, but have the option of playing against only similarly outfitted opponents.
Obviously skills and fitted modules will give vets an advantage, but it won't be the stomping we are seeing today. |
