As well intended going to 6 man squads on ccp's part there is a major flaw in it. By allowing one group of merc to compete with nearly half of the combat group being on comms and potentialy vets it tips the scales a bit too far. Thus people complaining about match makeing.
Solution: 1; Set squad size back to 4
2; Increase player count per map
There will always be a good group runnng pub matches, but to mitigate their presence this would do a whole lot towards the cause. : Assuming the ass hats are not sinc cuing...

its more of a problem to NOT be able to play with friends. I care more about playing with the guys I am actually in a corp with than the feelings of the blueberries on the other team who won't amount to anything anyway. |

No.
There are 6 slots so a squad can be more versatile. Example: 2 heavys, 2 logis a scout and a AV assault could demolish people IF they were organized enough.
You just got pubstomped so hard that you had to make a post about it! |

I say we keep 6 man squads, but we desperately need squad-free modes to compensate for it. I can only take so much slaughter playing solo in ambush, and no doubt it is killing the game for many other players who like to play solo (like a lot of new players).
Squad-free is just another one of those derp ideas that would exponentially make the game more fun and interesting, yet the devs refuse to try it. At the very least have it for ambush!! That mode is almost unplayable with all the team stacking going on (who also happen to bring in a lot of tanks, murder-taxis, proto suits and dropships to add salt to the wound). |

Lol ! I get a kick out of the shi/ttys talking about pub stomp as it pertains to them ...but If you were capable of reading you would see 2 .... Count them two options.. Larger player count or smaller squad...

I disagree 6 is good... and it would be better if we could deploy full squads of 16 that way we don't have to deal with random stupid blueberries |

Since they are changing FW to a matchmaking system that you can carry 16 people in with you, I agree that instant battles need to go down to 4 man squads or a larger player count. If you want to play with more than 3 friends do faction warfare.

While this is a good idea, I'm not sure the player count can support it. It's sort of a catch 22. |

Having squad free is not much of a solution in my opinion. Squads are neccesary. However a squad needs to be diluted by the rest of the team other wise proto squads dominate completely especially when they start bringing in tanks and llav's. I think that a squad should at max only make up around 20% of the entire team. So... 20 vs 20 = squads of 4 and so on. Squads should win all out but with **** poor spawning and the use of drop uplinks in ambush maps, only the elite are able to compensate and finish the battle with a decent showing. |

ITT: People who do not know what a squad is.
OP is right. For instant battle, limit squad size to 4 for exactly the same reasons as stated in the OP.
What most people are asking for is for a "Team deploy" mechanic. They are currently working on this for FW so that you can group up with 15 of your buddies for a match. |

Personally that's what stops me trying to randonly squad up in pub matches.

I beleave that the hacked uplinks are still team wide hile the other are just for your squad. |
