I'm I better off not using armour plates for the Caldari assault suits? I'm using shield regulators for my complex shield extenders at the moment, I find the armour really restricts my movement speed, but obviously I die a lot quicker without them. What's best for the right hand side slots? |

Use reactive armor plating if you must. |

Meh, it's pretty specific. If your all about the pop up pop out strategy then regulators seems good. If you like to stand still for a bit longer you need the armor.
It's all about give and take and using what fits your play stay, and that's all up to you. |

I wouldnt have amour plates on my cadari assult, i prefer the speed over them, shield regulators and a armour repairer are good for me
given the amount of logi's running about, its a little sad i need a repairer, but alas, no one ever reps me lol |

I'd suggest just using the basic armor plates, or complex ferroscale if you can. Or if you want to get really fancy: one complex ferro, one enhanced regular, and one complex reactive.
But basically I just do the first thing I suggested. The basic plates have less of a movement penalty but still give a decent amount of hp. Plus they use up very little CPU/pg. |

i prefer to run enhanced armor reps as much as i can. if i can fit a complex rep, even better. plates are great, but theres almost never a logi around, and reactive plates are only to be used if you have a CPU intense build and have left over PG... at the end of the day, i live by reppers, on my cald assault suit |

Depends on your playstyle. If you're more of a duck and cover player, I'd say go with the regulators in the lows and either a recharger or energizer in the highs. If you like to brawl out in the open, go for the plates with a higher buffer. |

I figure that its not worth worrying about speed unless you're going to speed tank. Yeah armor will shave off a bit of your movement speed and maybe that extra milisecond meant the difference between life and death but ultimately a regular assualt soldier shouldn't put themselves very far from an exit or decent cover.
I'm not certain playstyle really counts here if, as an assault, you want to walk a tight rope of mobility and raw power, power should win out unless you're going to start fitting your suit with kinetics and stamina boosters. I did see a proto amarr assault do that. At least I assumed he was speed boosting since he was moving so fast it took three of us to finally surround and take him down.
