Corps need to be able to organize battles that actually gain them SP. The only way to train to play in PRO gear is to play in PRO gear that means when not in PC, public matches are the only way for Corps to train. The game needs Corp Battles and they need to actually give SP and ISK. |

I'm giving a justification for Corp Battles. I hate to break it to you, the justification for proto-stomping is that the game allows it. Now my suggestion only deters it by giving players another outlet in which to run their PRO gear, it's not going to eliminate it, but it's a start.
Being against Proto-stomping is a morality based objection. It's not overpowered, nor it is a glitch or exploit. It's not against the rules in any form or fashion. The game, working as intended allows and so it happens. See this is the issue with all that HFTU, Adapt or Die, and Welcome to New Eden jive, you could easily apply it to the situation and dismiss that it might be an actually issue. |

Yeah, technically you could, but in this case you're playing with the longevity of the game itself. I'm sure anyone who got protostomped fresh out of the Academy has a 99% chance to say "**** this ****" and uninstall. If you'll take note, I only pull out the old staples on things that established players should already be aware of. NPE is Sacred. Protostomping those fresh out of Academy newbs is blasphemy and the only way to 100% avoid it is to not Protostomp. Thanks for endangering the game fuckhole.
Really of all the other issues effecting new player expierence, proto-stomping is the one that will defunct the game? No I don't think so. You don't to say to doomsayers that the game will last, then turn around and doom and gloom yourself. It doesn't work that way.
It's never effectively worked in any game to police and player enforce imaginary rules based on moral ideals. You simply can't garner compliance because it's not in fact rules which are not enforced by the game it's self. It also increases the attractiveness of trolling. Players are more likely to troll if they know a player or group of players are more likely to be upset by it.
Then you want to talk about endangering the game. What about players spec-ing into ADV then using AUR items to go PRO? Public matches happen at a much greater rate than PC. Why buy AUR PRO gear if you'll be ostracized for doing so. Furthermore why should new player play (potentially using booosters to make it faster) Dust to get PRO gear or even further why should they purchase AUR PRO gear if they are going to be looked down on for using it. Why should players play with friends it they might be seen as terrible for proto-stomping.
At the end of the day proto-stomping is not the direct issue, and focusing on policing it is drawing attention from the real issue, and even if players toned it down to ADV, STD, or even MLT the fact that they work together is still going to win out over. Dust's limited gameplay expierences for all levels of players is the true problem. PRO players would be less likely to proto-stomp if they had something more worth wild to do. New players would be less likely to be bothered by it they had more to do after Acadamy then be thrown to the wolves. |

When I squad with them most of the chatter is people BSing and having fun. Either step your game up, or leave. Don't blame others for playing to win. You obviously don't seeing the other side of the coin ... if i "step up" my game and give the Gaystompers a run for their money, i end up spending and average of 500,000-700,000 isk per battle.. just for a 200,000 isk reward, and ending up losing the battle anyway. my suits are 7-13k and i still go even or beat proto squads, stop using excuses and get better
How would we know, this account is a barely day old alt. |
