Quite a few shooters allow you to use a flame thrower, I have an idea for the heavys, instead of a flame thrower, we can make a plasmathrower or something like that, since the game is in the future, why not? It should be able to do status effects to players and melt through armor. Plus there aren't that many heavy weapons |

If you scroll down on the GÇ£Weapon Profiles PictureGÇ¥ in this Dev Blog, it lists 2 GÇÿTo Be AnnouncedGÇÖ Heavy weapons.

That weapon functioned by channeling plasma out of the 'Mech's reactor core. In this case, have the weapon use a compact "fusion power cell" or something to provide the plasma.
Then it could be all bright blue and pretty looking. |

Amarr should have something like a Tesla Webber.
A short range wide area of effect gun that shoots arcs of electricity out that lash out and connect to all targets in the cone of effect.
This weapon should deal an low to moderate damage to all targets being hit as well as suffer a "webbed" effect. This could either be in the form of slower movement speed and or slower reactions "aiming ability" and impaired visuals seeing as how your being electrocuted.
This would be a nifty weapon for a heavy to use with a squad while trying to flush out a group of defensive bunkered enemies. |

Oh another idea. I've been dreaming of a way to have a deployable stationary infantry weapon in DUST.
The heavies could have a deployable autocannon (or some other fancy name)
Basically a heavy deployable weapon that whilst being used is stationary. This would be the same idea as a modern gunnery team carrying a recoilless rifle. You could have AV weapons anti-infantry weapons, long range artillery. There are many things you could do with this concept.
Obviously it's downsides are that it cannot be used until it is deployed and set up, it is stationary, needs to have team support to maintain.
On the upside you have some of the heaviest firepower infantry can carry. It would allow tactical sculpting of the battlefield for crafty squads.
This is more of a concept than a specific weapon, but it would do much to bring heavies more options and team roles. |

That's actually a cool idea, never heard of that. If they made that I would totally switch from an hmg to a "tesla webber" |
