DICE did the switch for BF3. And its been that way ever since.
Just seems like with all the issues regarding it as of now, CCP might as well give it a try.
Both systems have their flaws. But since the game doesnt like to put people in their own regions anyways... client side would be able to somewhat smooth things out. |

Dont think anyone would risk bricking their PS3 just to cheat. Dont think switching to client sided hit detection is necessary. I didnt have much issues with it prior to 1.2, however whatever they did to 1.2 and up seriously screwed it up. Lets hope they can fix it. |

Why do you want CCP to switch over a system that was probably forced onto DICE by the company that won the Golden Turd award twice in a row?
(note to CCP: LOOK IT UP! - not trolling. EA has, as a matter of fact, won that award twice in a row) |

Yes, you still could have some latency issues like die behind cover, but at least continent vs continent and people with high latencies will notice a positive difference. LOL
People said it was impossible to hack anything related at all. The PSN was down for a month because of Anonymous.

Moreover, if it was even barely possible, don't you think that games like MAG, COD, BF would have been plagued with it? |

COD. Im beginning to feel like you are AIDs itself.
Sony was hacked. But they brought in someone who worked for Homeland Security. Nothing has happened since.
And do you know for a fact EA forced DICE to switch? No. Do you even know the difference between the two? Im going to assume "No you dont". But im sure once you read this you are going to google it all up and try to argue for no reason. |

What people complain about is shooting at someone strafing and hitting the character body, but not the hit box since its somehere in front or behind them. Client side would make that happen less.

I think Anita is referring to the same system MAG used. All calculation (if hit or not) were made local and then the whole package were sent to the host. In other words: In Dust happen: 1st hit sent to server (server say "true") 2nd hit sent to server (server say "true") 3rd hit lag (you see that you hit but it's untrue for the server due to lag) 4th hit lag (same as above) 5th hit sent to server
What happened in MAG was a bit different: all the hit markers were calculated locally and then the whole package ( for example 30 rounds out of 35 hit the target and the target died) were sent to the server. |

If the CPM was smart they would remove the link altogether. Because someone might actually fall for it and end up bricking their PC or whatever they try to put it on. |

actually Sony was hacked and CC details sold over the net iirc, is this beyond the average goldfish memory span or was it just an hallucination? O.o |

And, no, please, i was in the top 20 EU players in MGO and nobody ever aimbotted me you are just feeding trolls and PC elitist. Maybe that's just not my place anymore...You just shouldn't talk about something you know nothing about. |
