it doesn't happen often but when it does it's the same scenario. Ill be fighting missile installation, plenty of time on redline ticker, and then my dropship instantly blows up. It doesn't burn and fall it just explodes. Im thinking the redline doesn't actually reset even though it says it has and that's why im blowing up. seriously this is annoying, expensive, and hurts my k/d |

No blue tag?
It also happens with LAVs & HAVs.... rarely though; compared to DS at least. |

I think this stems from a larger problem with the actual redline ticker itself. I experience this all the time when I go repeatedly diving in to hunt redline snipers - the redline ticker does not actually sync properly on entrance or exit. I'm not sure if this stems from it simply not reseting properly, or behind the scene cooldown mechanics(If thats the case, the redline ticker has a bug preventing it from displaying properly).
I've lost count of the times where it said I had 3-5 seconds left, and i blew up stating "Committed suicide". Or how many times I was *well* out of the redline, and still died because the ticker did not register me leaving properly. |

Sounds like client/server/client network connection issues. I see variations of this all the time. Client A thinks it dodged the missile, the server says no, but the final word is the server, which will blow you up but there is not enough feedback to tell you what the heck happened. If the client and the server are not in agreement on the Redline counter then the server would normally win which means, you lose.
This is very similar to the being killed while around a corner problem for Mercs on the ground. That is more about the damage display on the UI being very slow and the Merc thinks they have some armor/shield left while in fact, they are already dead. But their client moved them behind cover before it killed them. Not the same as you, I realize. Just wondering out loud if there is a connection or if it is a similar problem.
Good Luck.

It could be there are several situations where this result shows up. Lag in the Red Line/Timer is one. But another possible one is getting in the way of the missiles that fly back and forth between the MCCs or down onto the MCCs. I died a couple of times when I haven't been careful about that.
That doesn't directly square with the suicide death type -- but that could be a place-holder response or a death-timing issue. |
